Materials and methods for mitigating passive intermodulation. A membrane for reducing passive intermodulation includes a first polymeric layer, a second polymeric layer, and a continuous metal layer encapsulated between the first and second polymeric layers. A self-adhesive radio frequency barrier tape includes a waterproof polymeric top layer, a metal-containing layer adhered by an adhesive layer to the polymeric top layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer adhered to the metal-containing layer, and a release liner on a bottom surface of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer. A method of mitigating passive intermodulation includes passing a probe over an area of interest, the probe being sensitive to an intermodulation frequency of interest, and identifying a suspected source of passive intermodulation when the amplitude of the probe output exceeds a threshold at the frequency of interest. The method further includes covering the suspected passive intermodulation source with a radio frequency barrier material.

A macro-molecular leakage-free self-adhering aluminum foil has two layers of aluminum foil compounded using a PET film, and the other surfaces of each layer coated with a modified PE adhesive layer respectively; or air gaps in one surface or two surfaces are filled with nano-aluminum to form a permeable air gap-free surface. The foil has advantages: 1, high folding resistance, fatigue resistance and strength 2, wrapping self-adhering performance is good, and stripping strength formed after adhesion is several times as high as that of the prior art; 3, air gaps in the surface of the aluminum foil filled with nano-aluminum powder result in improved compactness; manufacture from low-grade aluminum foil, and so that rolling precision requirements are lowered, and manufacturing cost reduced; 4, insulating strength is high, shielding effect is good, the return loss phenomenon is avoided, and tensile strength is good.

RADIO WAVE REFLECTION REDUCING SHEET AND VEHICLE MEMBER

An electromagnetic wave absorber includes an electromagnetic wave-absorbing layer (10) and an adhesive layer (20). The adhesive layer (20) is disposed on at least one surface of the electromagnetic wave-absorbing layer (10). The electromagnetic wave absorber is capable of being adhered to a surface having a step in such a manner that the adhesive layer (20) is in contact with the surface. The adhesive layer (20) has a thickness equal to or greater than a reference height determined by subtracting 0.1 mm from the height of the step. In the electromagnetic wave absorber, a return loss ΔR defined by ΔR=Rt−Rr is 15 dB or more. Rt is a reflection amount of a 76-GHz electromagnetic wave and is measured for a reference specimen. Rr is a reflection amount of a 76-GHz electromagnetic wave and is measured for a specimen obtained by adhering the electromagnetic wave absorber.
