A METHOD FOR IMPROVING DURABILITY AND WEATHERABILITY OF TIMBER BY ENGINEERING LAYERS
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing high durability timber product, the method comprising: a) selecting a durable substrate timber; b) selecting a veneer of high-performance timber; and c) gluing the veneer of high-performance timber to the face of the durable substrate 5 timber, wherein the resulting manufactured high durability timber product is suitable for long-term use in exterior applications at a lower cost than that of the same thickness timber product if made of high-performance timber alone.
Fire-rated structural OSB panels with overlaid water-resistant barrier
A wood or engineered wood structural panel, such as, but not limited to, OSB (“oriented strand board”) or plywood, that is both fire-resistant and water resistant. The panel is factory-coated with a product that provides fire resistance. The treatment gives it a Fire-Resistant (FR) performance (for use in a one- or two-hour rated assembly). The panel also is overlaid or coated in a factory setting with a weather/water resistive barrier (WRB). The structural panel thus combines a fire-resistant structural sheathing and WRB product in one integrated panel produced at a factory prior for installation at a job site.
REINFORCED WATER-RESISTANT BOARD WITH TRAFFIC COAT
A reinforced water-resistant board includes a cover board with a reinforced water-resistant membrane applied to a surface of the cover board. The reinforced water-resistant membrane includes a primer layer, a reinforced membrane, a traffic coat, and a sealing layer. The primer layer is applied over the surface of the cover board. The reinforced membrane includes fleece soaked in a liquid resin and is applied over the primer layer. The traffic coat is bonded to the reinforced member. The sealing layer is applied over the traffic coat.
GYPSUM WALLBOARD COMPRISING LAMINATED MULTI-PLY PAPER COVER SHEETS BONDED WITH A NON-IONIC POLYMERIC BINDER AND METHODS
Provided are wallboard panels comprising laminated multi-ply paper cover sheets bonded with a non-ionic polymeric binder and a cross-linker, and methods for making the wallboard panels.
Cap liner comprising a sintered fluoropolymer layer
In an aspect, a cap liner comprises a sintered fluoropolymer layer; and a backing layer; wherein the sintered fluoropolymer layer is in direct physical contact with the backing layer with no intervening layer located there between. In another aspect, a method of forming the cap liner of comprises plasma etching the sintered fluoropolymer layer to form a sintered plasma etched layer; and laminating the sintered plasma etched layer and the backing layer to form the cap liner.
Reduced weight, multi-layer roofing shingles and methods for installing them
One aspect of the disclosure is roofing shingle including a shim layer having a top surface, a first side edge, and a second side edge positioned opposite the first side edge. The roofing shingle also includes a top shingle layer at least partially laminated to the top surface of the shim layer, where the top shingle layer includes a first side edge offset a sidelap distance from the first side edge of the shim layer such that a side portion of the top surface of the shim layer is exposed, and a second side edge extending beyond the second side edge of the shim layer so as to overlap the second side edge of the shim layer by the sidelap distance.
COMPOSITE FLOORING FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
A laminated panel is provided comprising a skeletal framework, foam core inserts, an impact resistant sheet, and a weather resistant sheet bonded together with adhesive. Recreational vehicles incorporating such panels are also contemplated, as are methods of making the composite laminated panel.
Laminate assembly with embedded conductive alloy elements
A laminate assembly includes a matrix layer and elongated, continuous strips of a conductive alloy. The matrix layer has opposite first and second sides connected by opposite first and second edges. Each of the first and second edges extends from the first side of the matrix layer to the opposite second side of the matrix layer. The elongated, continuous strips of the conductive alloy are disposed in the matrix layer between the first and second sides of the matrix layer. The elongated continuous strips continuously extend through the matrix layer from the first edge to the opposite second edge.
ACRYLIC LAMINATE FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND DECO SHEET PRODUCED THEREFROM
The present invention pertains to: an acrylic laminate film containing an acrylic copolymer and having a three-layer structure of an inner layer, an intermediate layer, and an outer layer; a method for producing same; and a deco sheet produced therefrom. An object of the present invention is to provide a three-layer-structured acrylic laminate film produced from an acrylic copolymer. Another object of the present invention is to provide: an acrylic laminate film having significantly improved optical properties and surface smoothness by using an acrylic copolymer alone without mixing the same with additional polymers; and a method for producing the acrylic laminate film. Still another object of the present invention is to provide: an acrylic laminate film that exhibits significantly reduced whitening even when a flexural stress is applied; and a method for producing the acrylic laminate film.
Anti-icing stack
Anti-icing stacks for protecting an aerodynamic surface are described. In some embodiments, an anti-icing stack includes an anti-icing layer, an elastomeric erosion protection layer, and an additional layer. The erosion protection layer is disposed between the anti-icing layer and the additional layer. The additional layer has a thickness greater than the thickness of the erosion protection layer and a tensile modulus of no more than the tensile modulus of the erosion protection layer. The additional layer may be a foam adhesive layer.
