PRE-CONSOLIDATED FINES LAYER FOR IMPROVED ENGINEERED WOOD PRODUCTS
An engineered wood based siding, cladding or panel with a pre-consolidated fines layer (PCF) applied to the top of the main strand matrix layers to minimize telegraphing and provide an improved surface appearance. The PCF is consolidated prior to application to the surface of the strand matrix or mat, and takes the place of a loose fines layer. The PCF prevents the loss of fines into the strand matrix, effectively keeping the fines at the surface so they can effectively and efficiently function to prevent or eliminate strand telegraphing, and provide a smooth finished surface for the product.
Direct molded acoustic insulators
A method to form automobile vehicle acoustic insulators includes as stages: forming a fiber mass by mixing a low melting point polymeric fiber and a high melting point polymeric fiber in predefined volumes in a mixing device; adding a water volume to the fiber mass to create a semi-solid mass; placing the semi-solid mass in a mold; internally heating the semi-solid mass in the mold using microwave energy; and expelling a first portion of the water volume through apertures created in the mold.
Apparatus and method for a temperature released adhesive structure for use with bandages
An adhesive article that remains securely bonded to a substrate until a stimuli is applied. The article may be embodied as an adhesive tape, a bandage, or as other articles. The stimuli may be a change in temperature or application of a reduction that causes a structure within the article to break, creak, or otherwise disrupt to expose the adhesive to a solvent, such as via a difference in Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) or by exposing the article to a glass transition temperature.
Packaging bag using polybutylene terephthalate film
It is an object of the present invention to provide a packaging bag having excellent dimensional stability, processability, bag breakage resistance, and chemical resistance, and causing less transfer of an extract to contents. A packaging bag includes a laminated body in which a layer of biaxially stretched polybutylene terephthalate film, having a thickness of 8 to 25 μm and a polyolefin film sealant layer having a thickness of 10 to 100 μm are laminated. The biaxially stretched polybutylene terephthalate film satisfies (a) to (c) below: (a) the biaxially stretched polybutylene terephthalate film contains 60% by mass or more of a polybutylene terephthalate resin; (b) a thermal shrinkage of the biaxially stretched polybutylene terephthalate film at 150° C. for 30 minutes is −2 to +4%; and (c) a total amount of 1,4-butanediol and THF volatilized during heating at a temperature of 135° C. for 60 minutes is 2000 ppb or less.
Label laminate and a method and a system for manufacturing a label laminate
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a label laminate. The method includes forming at least one water based adhesive layer on a belt, drying said at least one water based adhesive layer on the belt, unwinding a first material layer, unwinding a second material layer, attaching said at least one dried water based adhesive layer to the surface of the first material layer, and laminating the first material layer comprising at least one water based adhesive layer together with the second material layer in order to form the label laminate. The invention also relates to a label laminate and to a system for manufacturing a label laminate.

Footwear component tooling for use with microwave energy
The utilization of heat in the manufacturing of footwear may be accomplished through microwave energy. The microwave energy is conveyed to the footwear components through a microwave transparent window of a tool. The microwave transparent tool window forms as least a portion of a part-contacting surface of the tool. Another surface of the tool is formed from a microwave reflecting material, such as aluminum. The footwear component(s) are exposed to microwave energy while within the tool such that the microwave energy passes through the tool window to cause a dielectric heating of one or more materials within a tool cavity of the tool.

Carbon nanotube sheet optical bellows with enhanced stray light suppression and method of manufacture
A polygonally shaped carbon nanotube (CNT) sheet optical bellows providing enhanced stray light suppression, the polygonally shaped CNT sheet optical bellows includes: a free-standing non-woven CNT sheet; a polymer bonded to the non-woven CNT sheet; and an elastomer film bonded to the polymer film, creating a laminate film, the laminate film being rolled to form a cylinder by applying an adhesive along a bonding edge of the laminate film to adhere the bonding edge to an opposite edge of the laminate film, an outer side of the laminate film comprising diamond-shaped elements, the diamond-shaped elements being pinched, pressed, folded and collapsed in a rotating manner around a circumference of the cylinder, creating the polygonally shaped CNT sheet optical bellows.
