Each dryer module permits a sheet or web to pass therethrough in a process direction. Each dryer module includes a lamp mount, suitable for holding one or more heating or curing lamps, the lamp mount being slidably disposed within the module for easy access to the lamps. Each dryer module defines a top portion suitable for maintaining an airflow above the lamp mount, and a bottom portion suitable for maintaining an airflow below the lamp mount. A plate having a pattern of openings therein enables an airflow through the lamps.
APPARATUS FOR IRRADIATING A SUBSTRATE
The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for irradiating a substrate (2), which apparatus comprises a platform (4), which is straight or curved in relation to the longitudinal axis (3) of the platform (4), wherein one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten or more irradiation modules (6) and/or substrate supply air modules (36) and/or substrate exhaust air modules (37) are reversibly attachable directly or indirectly to the bottom side (8) of the platform (4) by sliding or inserting or mounting in one or more fixed or telescoping module attachment devices (10) provided on the bottom side (8) of the platform (4) - each extending from the front side (5) of the apparatus (1) and in the direction of the back side (9) of the apparatus (1).
Printing device dryer setting
According to an example, an apparatus may include a controller and a non-transitory computer readable medium on which is stored instructions. The instructions may cause the controller to predict that a user is to instruct a printing device to perform a printing operation, in which the printing device includes a dryer, identify the user in response to the prediction, to access a user profile corresponding to the identified user, in which the accessed profile identifies a type of document that the identified user typically prints, and to adjust a setting of the dryer according to the identified type of document in the accessed profile.
GAS IMPINGEMENT DEVICE, RECORDING SUBSTRATE TREATMENT APPARATUS AND PRINTING SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH GAS IMPINGEMENT DEVICE
A gas impingement device includes a first surface including a pattern of a plurality of gas outlets, the pattern including a number of substantially parallel rows of gas outlets, the rows arranged in a direction, which direction is at a skew angle α with a front edge of the first surface of the gas impingement device. A recording substrate treatment apparatus and a printing system including such a gas impingement device and a method of drying a recording substrate by using the gas impingement device are also disclosed.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL SCREEN-PRINTED WORKPIECES
Apparatus for producing three-dimensional screen-printed workpieces, in particular 3D screen printing machine, with at least one printing device for the layer-by-layer production of at least one screen-printed workpiece in a plurality of printing operations and with at least one drying device for a screen-printed workpiece, wherein the drying device is designed as a drying path for the continuous drying of screen-printed workpieces.
Sheet-fed printing machine having a simultaneous printing unit for security printing
A sheet-fed simultaneous printing machine has two directly interacting collecting cylinders with respective axes of rotation. An axial plane contains these axes of rotation. A reference plane contains such an axis of rotation of this type and has a horizontal surface normal. The intersection angle between the axial plane and the reference plane is max 0.5°. The sheet-fed simultaneous sheet printing unit has exactly four plate cylinders, of which two are arranged such that they directly interact with the first and two are arranged to such that they directly interact with the second collector cylinder. An inking unit with a respective ink supply is arranged in each plate cylinder and a supply sectional plane is determined for each ink supply, which intersects this ink supply and which also contains the axis of rotation of the corresponding plate cylinder. An intersection angle between the reference plane and a supply sectional plane of the respective ink supply is max 35°. A sheet-fed machine comprises at least one sheet-fed printing unit of this type, as well as a sheet-fed printing unit having two directly interacting impression cylinders. An intersection angle between the axial plane on one side and the reference plane on the other side is max 45°.

Method for manufacturing printed matter
The present invention relates to [1] a process for producing a printed material, including step 1 of subjecting an image-bearing surface of a printed recording medium 1′ on which characters or images are formed by analog printing to discharge treatment under specific conditions to obtain a printed recording medium 1, and step 2 of further forming characters or images on the image-bearing surface of the printed recording medium 1 by ink-jet printing using a water-based ink to obtain the printed material, [2] an ink-jet printing method including the step of ejecting a water-based ink onto a printed recording medium 1 by an ink-jetting method to form characters or images thereon, in which the printed recording medium 1 has an image-bearing surface on which characters or images are formed by analog printing, and the image-bearing surface is subjected to discharge treatment under the specific conditions, [3] a recording medium for ink-jet printing, including an image-bearing surface on which characters or images are formed by analog printing and which is subjected to discharge treatment, in which a surface free energy of the image-bearing surface after being subjected to the discharge treatment is not less than 30 mN/m, and [4] a printed material including an image-bearing surface on which characters or images are formed by analog printing and then on at least a part of which characters or images are further formed by ink-jet printing using a water-based ink, in which the image-bearing surface after forming the characters or images thereon by the analog printing is subjected to discharge treatment, and a surface free energy of the image-bearing surface after being subjected to the discharge treatment is not less than 30 mN/m.
