Die for a printhead
A die for a printhead is described herein. The die includes a number of fluid feed holes disposed in a line parallel to a longitudinal axis of the die. A number of fluidic actuators are disposed in a line parallel to the fluid feed holes. A crack detector trace is routed between each of the plurality of fluid feed holes.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A method for inspecting an ink discharge status based on a temperature change of an energy generating element includes calculating a difference value between a value obtained by statistics of information indicating ink discharge statuses obtained for a plurality of nozzles close to a target nozzle and the information obtained for the target nozzle; comparing the calculated difference value with a predetermined threshold; and judging the ink discharge status for the target nozzle based on a result of the comparison. This enables to appropriately detect a nozzle which is in a discharge failure status due to an ink droplet adhered to a discharge surface of a printhead or the like.

Multilayer structured element substrate, printhead, and printing apparatus
According to one embodiment, a size of an element substrate is reduced, and a printhead using the element substrate can print high-quality image. The multilayer structured element substrate comprises a plurality of print elements, and a circuit configured to input a data signal and a clock signal used for driving the plurality of print elements. And, a print element array formed by arranging the plurality of print elements in line is diagonally arranged with respect to a side constituting an outer shape of the element substrate. A print element at one end of the print element array is a dummy element not contributing to printing. The circuit is provided not only at the same position as that of the dummy element but also in a layer different from that of the dummy element.
Temperature-based actuator evaluation
In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a fluidic system is described. The fluidic system includes a fluidic die. The fluidic die includes a substrate in which a number of fluid chambers are formed. Each fluid chamber includes a fluid actuator disposed within the fluid chamber. A number of actuator sensors are disposed on the substrate to output at least one value indicative of a sensed characteristic of fluid actuators. A number of substrate temperature sensors are also disposed on the substrate to sense a temperature for the substrate. An actuator evaluation device of the fluidic system determines a state of the fluid actuator based at least in part on the at least one value and at least one correction value associated with the temperature sensed by the number of substrate temperature sensors.
PRINT COMPONENT HAVING FLUIDIC ACTUATING STRUCTURES WITH DIFFERENT FLUIDIC ARCHITECTURES
A print component includes an array of fluidic actuation structures including a first column of fluidic actuating structures addressable by a set of actuation addresses, each fluidic actuating structure having a different one of the actuation addresses and having a fluidic architecture type, and a second column of fluidic actuating structures addressable by the set of actuation addresses. Each fluidic actuating structure of the second column has a different one of the actuation addresses and has a same fluidic architecture type as the fluidic actuating structure of the first column having the same address. An address bus communicates the set of addresses to the array of fluidic actuating structures, and a fire signal line communicates a plurality of fire pulse signal types to the array of fluidic actuating structures, the fire pulse signal type depending on the actuation address on the address bus.
Fault tolerant printhead
In one example, a fault-tolerant printhead includes an array of fluid actuators. Each fluid actuator includes a fault sensor to detect a faulted fluid actuator and a per-fluid actuator memory to store a fault sensor state of the fluid actuator. The fault-tolerant printhead also includes an interface to read a state of each per-fluid actuator memory.
Image forming apparatus and control method of image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus 101 capable of performing printing with a high image quality, and a control method of the image forming apparatus 101 are provided. For this purpose, a threshold value Dt is preliminarily set that allows printing without occurrence of blur, for each of preliminarily set monitoring areas A. In the case where a print duty for each of the monitoring areas A has exceeded the threshold value Dt, an ejection frequency of ink and conveying speed of a print medium are reduced in association therebetween.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A method for inspecting an ink discharge status based on a temperature change of an energy generating element comprises: calculating a difference value between a value obtained by statistics of pieces of information indicating ink discharge statuses obtained for a plurality of nozzles close to a target nozzle and the information obtained for the target nozzle; comparing the calculated difference value with a predetermined threshold; and judging the ink discharge status for the target nozzle based on a result of the comparison. This enables to appropriately detect a nozzle which is in a discharge failure status due to an ink droplet adhered to a discharge surface of a printhead or the like.
