Self-configuring inspection systems for printers
Systems and methods are provided for print review systems. One embodiment is a print review system that includes a memory that stores inspection parameters of print media marked by a printer, an interface that communicates with the printer, and a controller that, in response to the printer initiating processing of a print job, receives an indication via the interface of settings used by the printer in processing the print job, modifies the parameters based on the settings, inspects the print media based on the modified parameters, and reports compliance of the print job with the modified parameters.
Image forming apparatus and flushing control method for assigning respective dot patterns for use in flushing with inks of different colors according to number of overlapping dots in image
An image forming apparatus includes a recording head that ejects inks of different colors on a recording medium to form an image based on image data, a storage device that stores a plurality of different dot patterns for flushing, and a control device that functions as: a controller that allows the recording head to make flushing; an image area detector that detects an image area in the image data; an overlapping dot counter that counts a number of overlapping dots for each of the plurality of dot patterns according to which flushing is to be made on the image area, the number of overlapping dots being a number of dots in the dot pattern of the ink ejected on the image area; and a dot pattern assignor that assigns, according to the number of overlapping dots, the respective dot patterns for use in flushing with the inks of different colors.
Liquid discharging apparatus, controlling method for the same, and medium storing program
A liquid discharging apparatus includes a controller configured to execute: a recording processing, a first determining processing, a pre-recording flushing processing, a first flushing processing, and a second flushing processing. In a case that the controller determines, by the first determining processing, that the recording processing is to be executed in the second mode, the controller is configured to make a first flushing interval between the pre-recording flushing processing and the first flushing processing to be longer than a second flushing interval between the first flushing processing and the second flushing processing.
Printing system with inkjet modules seated on media feed chassis
A printing system includes: a media feed chassis including a plurality of fixed roller shafts, each roller shaft having a rotatable roller for guiding print media through a media feed path; and inkjet modules mounted on the media feed chassis for printing on the print media. Each inkjet module includes: a support chassis seated on the media feed chassis; a maintenance chassis mounted on the support chassis; and a print bar chassis mounted on the maintenance chassis, the print bar chassis having inkjet printheads mounted thereon.
Substrate treating apparatus and inkjet apparatus
Disclosed is a substrate treating apparatus. The substrate treating apparatus may include a stage including an accommodation area, onto or from which a substrate is loaded or unloaded, and a treatment area, in which the substrate is treated, a liquid discharge head that supplies a treatment liquid to the substrate, and a liquid receiving part that receives the treatment liquid pre-discharged by the liquid discharge head in the treatment area.
Recording device including a recording-time transport path and reversing path
A recording device has: a recording head configured to perform recording on a medium; a medium storage below the recording head configured to store the medium to be recoded; a supply path comprising a first curved supply path curved so as to be convex upward and transporting the medium fed out of the medium storage in a reversed direction via the first curved supply path; and a reversing path comprising a second curved path curved so as to be convex downward and transporting the recorded medium into a direction including a vertically upward component via second curved path from a direction including a vertically downward component; wherein the supply path joins the reversing path, and the first curved path and the second curved path overlap when viewed horizontally.
PLATEN WITH EDGE SPIT OPENINGS
Examples of a platen for a printing device are described. In some examples, the platen may include a spit opening located at a side of the platen. In some examples, the spit opening may include an angled lead-in edge to facilitate travel of print media in the printing device. In some examples, an inside portion of a leading edge of the print media contacts the angled lead-in edge of the spit opening and pulls an outside edge of the print media up as the print media moves across the platen.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMMENCING PRINTING OPERATIONS IN AN INKJET PRINTER
A method of operating a printer iteratively performs printhead purges and test pattern analysis until either every printhead has a number of inoperative inkjets that is less than a predetermined threshold or a maximum number of iterations is reached. An error message is generated for each printhead having a number of inoperative inkjets that is greater than the predetermined threshold. The iterative performance of the printhead purges and test pattern analysis is performed automatically prior to the commencement of printing operations with the printer to remove subjective and time-consuming analysis by a printer operator.
Pressure control system for print head
A pressure controlling system for an inkjet printer includes a pressure chamber, a pump fluidically connected to the chamber and adapted for increasing or decreasing the pressure within the pressure chamber, a controllable three port two way valve, and a sensing unit including one or more pressure sensors. The pressure sensing unit is in fluidic communication with the pressure chamber for sensing the pressure therein. The valve has a first port controllably fluidically connectable to the pressure chamber, a second port controllably fluidically connectable to an inkjet print head, and a third port controllably fluidically connectable with atmospheric air. The sensing unit is adapted for sending signals representative of the pressure within the pressure chamber to at least one processor/controller. The pump and the valve are controlled by receiving control signals from the processor/controller(s). There are provided a method for operating the system and a printer including the system.
INK-JET RECORDING APPARATUS
When printing is performed on a recording medium of a second size larger than a first size, a control portion, after passage of the recording medium of the first size at a position opposite a recording head before arrival of the recording medium of the second size at the position opposite the recording head, makes the recording head perform preparatory flushing processing in which ink is ejected toward openings from first nozzles that have not been set as target nozzles during printing on the recording medium of the first size but will be newly set as the target nozzles during printing on the recording medium of the second size.
