A liquid ejecting head includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall, and head chips. The head chips are arranged side by side between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. Each of the head chips has nozzles configured to discharge a liquid. The first sidewall is formed by a portion of a holder from which the liquid is to be supplied to the head chips, whereas the second sidewall is formed by a portion of a fixed plate to which the head chips are fixed. The fixed plate has an aperture through which the nozzles are exposed.

A printer includes a head, an electrode, a moving unit, a voltage application circuit, and a controller. The head has an ejection surface having a nozzle. The head is configured to eject liquid from the nozzle. The moving unit is configured to move at least one of the electrode or the head. The voltage application circuit is configured to apply a certain voltage between the head and the electrode. The controller is configured to: drive the moving unit such that the ejection surface faces the electrode; drive the voltage application circuit to apply the certain voltage between the head and the electrode; compare a level of an output signal input to the controller from the electrode with a particular threshold; and based on the comparison result, determine that liquid is present between the ejection surface and the electrode.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a head including a nozzle surface having nozzles, the head configured to discharge a liquid from the nozzles, a head plate holding the head, and a wiping device including a wiper configured to wipe the nozzle surface of the head, a wiper support plate holding the wiper, the wiper support plate vertically movable with respect to the head plate, a cover between the head plate and the wiper support plate, the cover configured to cover the wiper, a lifting device configured to vertically move the wiper support plate and the cover toward the head plate until the cover contacts the head plate, and an adjuster between the wiper support plate and the cover, the adjuster configured to adjust a position of the wiper support plate with respect to the cover.

The inkjet head includes a head main body and a head end portion adjacent to the head main body, and faces an upper surface of the conveyance plate via the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit removes ink adhering to a lower surface of the head main body. A depth of the recessed portion in a facing region facing the head end portion of the conveyance plate is shallower than a depth of the recessed portion in a region other than the facing region.

A liquid discharge device includes a head including a discharge port. The head discharges a liquid from the discharge port toward an object. The liquid discharge device further includes a liquid receiving surface to receive the liquid discharged from the discharge port, a liquid collector to collect the liquid received by the liquid receiving surface, and a moving unit to hold the liquid receiving surface and the liquid collector. The moving unit is movable at a facing position where the liquid receiving surface faces the discharge port without changing an inclination of the liquid collector with respect to a horizontal plane.
Liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge apparatus is provided, which comprises a conveyor, a support member which supports a medium existing in a conveying passage, a head, a maintenance mechanism which has a wiper, and a wiper cleaner. The maintenance mechanism is opposed to a nozzle surface of the head and movable to a wiping position at which the wiper abuts against the nozzle surface and a cleaning position at which the wiper abuts against the wiper cleaner. The wiper cleaner is disposed at a position at which a part thereof is overlapped with the support member in a direction orthogonal to the nozzle surface under or below the support member.
RETRACTABLE PRINTHEAD WIPER FOR PRINTHEAD MAINTENANCE UNITS
A printhead maintenance system for a printing machine having at least one printhead, the system includes a body, at least one guide track supporting the body for movement along the at least one guide track in proximity to the face of the printhead, and a drive mechanism in engagement with the body and operable to move the body along the guide track. A wiper blade is movably mounted on said body for movement between a retracted position in which the wiper blade cannot contact the face of the printhead and an operative position in which the wiper blade can contact the face of the printhead. A biasing mechanism is provided between the wiper blade and the body that is configured to bias the wiper blade to the operative position. The system includes a retraction mechanism that is operable to move the wiper blade to the retracted position upon movement of the body along the guide track.

The inkjet recording apparatus includes a conveyance belt, a conveyance plate, a suction unit, an inkjet head, and a cleaning unit. The conveyance belt has a plurality of through holes. The suction unit causes the conveyance belt to suck the sheet. The conveyance plate includes a plurality of through holes formed in bottom portions of the plurality of recessed portions. The inkjet head includes a head main body and a head end portion adjacent to the head main body, and faces an upper surface of the conveyance plate via the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit removes ink adhering to a lower surface of the head main body. A ratio of the recessed portions per unit area in a facing region of the conveyance plate facing the head end portion is smaller than a ratio of the recessed portions per unit area in a region other than the facing region.

The substrate processing apparatus includes a head unit including a head having at least one nozzle for ejecting a treatment liquid to a substrate and a cleaning unit that cleans the head, wherein the cleaning unit includes a first cleaning member that sprays a cleaning liquid to the head; and a second cleaning member that forms a suction space in combination with the head when being in close contact with the head, and removes impurities attached to the head by providing a reduced pressure to the suction space.
