A waste ink storage mechanism of the present disclosure includes a waste ink tank, a waste ink tank fitting portion and a capacitance sensor. The waste ink tank stores a waste ink exhausted from a recording head. The waste ink tank is fitted to the waste ink tank fitting portion such that the waste ink tank can be fitted into and removed from the waste ink tank fitting portion. The capacitance sensor is provided in the waste ink tank fitting portion so as to detect that a liquid surface within the waste ink tank reaches a predetermined level. The waste ink tank includes: a first surface in which an inflow port through which the waste ink flows in is formed; and a second surface, and the capacitance sensor is arranged close to the second surface.

Inkjet recording apparatus

A base board includes a board and a controller mounted on the board. A controller is configured to receive signals outputted from a first sensor and a second sensor. A recording head, a case, the first sensor, a maintenance unit, a waste liquid container, the second sensor, and the base board are arranged in an internal space of a housing. The base board has a flat surface extending in a first horizontal direction and in a second horizontal direction. A range occupied by the base board in a vertical direction overlaps each of a range occupied by the first sensor in the vertical direction and a range occupied by the second sensor in the vertical direction. The second horizontal direction is perpendicular to the first horizontal direction. The vertical direction is perpendicular to both the first horizontal direction and the second horizontal direction.

Spittoon system, printer and method for a printing mechanism

A spittoon system for a printing mechanism includes a reservoir elongated in a longitudinal direction and having a bottom part. The reservoir receives printing fluid residue spit from a print-head onto a first zone of the reservoir. The spittoon system further includes a cleaning element arranged inside the reservoir to transfer, by sliding along the longitudinal direction of the reservoir, the received printing fluid residue from the first zone to a second zone. The second zone includes a drain outlet to drain the printing fluid residue from the reservoir.

LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE
20240246340 · 2024-07-25 ·

A liquid ejecting device on which a waste liquid storage unit is mounted includes an ejecting unit that ejects a liquid, a maintenance unit and a collecting unit. The maintenance unit includes a receiving unit and a wiping unit that wipes a nozzle surface in which a nozzle is open, by moving together with the receiving unit in one direction. The receiving unit includes a receiver including a receiving tank that receives the liquid discharged from the nozzle, and a receiving gutter in which a discharging hole for dropping the liquid received by the receiving tank onto the collecting unit is open.

The collecting unit includes a discharging gutter that directs the liquid dropped through the discharging hole to the waste liquid storage unit, and the discharging gutter extends in the one direction and overlaps with at least a part of the receiver as viewed in a vertical direction.

Liquid discharge apparatus and waste liquid tank

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a discharging unit configured to be capable of discharging a plurality of kinds of liquids onto a medium, and a waste liquid tank including a storage part configured to store a waste liquid of the liquid. The waste liquid tank includes a first inflow port and a second inflow port from which the waste liquid flows into the storage part, and a restriction portion located between the first inflow port and the second inflow port, and configured to restrict movement of the waste liquid in the storage part.

INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS AND DETECTING METHOD

There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus capable of properly determining full capacity of a waste ink tank with less errors. To achieve this, full capacity of the waste ink tank is determined based on an amount of waste ink discharged after a point when a detection pin provided on an absorber in a waste ink tank detects ink and an amount of waste ink discharged over a past predetermined period of time before the point.

IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS

An image recording apparatus includes a head having nozzles, an expelling device, a discharge-testing device to output condition signals according to discharging conditions of the nozzles, a storage to store information concerning the condition signals, and a controller. In response to receipt of a record command, the controller controls the expelling device to expel a liquid from the nozzles based on the information concerning the condition signals stored in the storage, and thereafter, controls the head to discharge the liquid for recording an image on a recording medium. In response to receipt of a particular signal indicating a potential for receiving the record command, the controller executes a discharging-test process in which the controller controls the discharge-testing device to output the condition signals according to the discharging conditions of the nozzles and a storing process in which the information concerning the condition signals is stored in the storage.
