LIQUID WASTE CONTAINER
Certain examples described herein relate to liquid waste containers delimiting an opening for receiving liquid. The liquid waste container comprises a receptacle for liquid waste and a bistable arrangement having first and second stable states such that when the bistable arrangement is in the first stable state, liquid can be received into the receptacle through the opening, and when the bistable arrangement is in the second stable state, liquid is prevented from exiting the receptacle through the opening. The example liquid waste container further comprises an actuator arranged to engage the bistable arrangement and to cause the bistable arrangement to transition from the first stable state to the second stable state.

LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head ejecting liquid onto a medium transported on a transport path extending in a depth direction, a carriage holding the liquid ejecting head and reciprocally moving in a width direction so as to cross the transport path, and a waste liquid containing portion containing waste liquid discharged from the liquid ejecting head. The carriage includes a plurality of liquid containers that contain the liquid and are mounted on the carriage in such a manner that a plurality of the liquid containers are arranged side by side with each other in the depth direction. A portion of the carriage overlaps the waste liquid containing portion in a vertical direction when the liquid ejecting head is outside the transport path.

A liquid ejecting device includes a flow path member, an actuator, a pump, and a controller. The flow path member includes a flow path configured to direct flow of a pseudoplastic liquid through the flow path member. The actuator is configured to cause droplets to be ejected. The controller is configured to adjust a flow rate of the liquid to a prescribed target flow rate. The flow path has a flow path shape in which an average viscosity of the liquid in the plurality of supply flow paths is less than or equal to half an average viscosity of the liquid in the plurality of supply manifolds when the flow rate is equal to the target flow rate.

The inkjet printing apparatus further includes a counting unit that counts a waste ink amount discharged to the waste ink tank, a timer that measures an elapsed time from installation of the waste ink tank in the apparatus, an acquiring unit that acquires a waste ink retention amount by obtaining an evaporation amount from evaporation of waste ink retained in the waste ink tank based on the elapsed time and subtracting the evaporation amount from the waste ink amount, a notifying unit that notifies that the waste ink retention amount exceeds a threshold; and a setting unit that sets the threshold based on a waste ink evaporation rate calculated by using the evaporation amount and the waste ink amount.

An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head that ejects ink, a waste ink tank having an absorber that absorbs ink discharged from the print head.
