INKJET HEAD DRIVING METHOD AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
20230044536 · 2023-02-09 ·

An inkjet head driving method includes applying a voltage signal having a combined drive waveform that includes unit drive waveforms to a pressure generator and causing a nozzle to jet ink droplets such that the droplets land on a medium as one droplet. Each unit drive waveform includes a first pulse waveform for jetting a droplet and a second pulse waveform for pulling back the jetted droplet. The first and second pulse waveforms each include an expansion part for expanding a pressure chamber and a following contraction part for contracting the chamber. The combined drive waveform includes a first unit drive waveform and a following second unit drive waveform. A voltage amplitude of the contraction part of the second pulse waveform in the second unit waveform is greater than that of the contraction part of the second pulse waveform in the first unit drive waveform.

Color Correction in Printing Systems

A method is described in which a first color is detected at a user-selected arbitrary position of a first print; a second color is detected at a user-selected arbitrary position of a second print printed by a printer; a color difference between the first color and the second color is determined; and settings of the printer are changed to reduce the color difference in further prints printed by the printer.

The substrate treating apparatus may include a stage including an accommodation area, onto or from which a substrate is loaded or unloaded, and a treatment area, in which the substrate is treated, a liquid discharge head that supplies a treatment liquid to the substrate, and a liquid receiving part that receives the treatment liquid pre-discharged by the liquid discharge head in the treatment area.

TECHNIQUES FOR ARRAYED PRINTING OF A PERMANENT LAYER WITH IMPROVED SPEED AND ACCURACY

A repeatable manufacturing process uses a printer to deposits liquid for each product carried by a substrate to form respective thin films. The liquid is dried, cured or otherwise processed to form from the liquid a permanent layer of each respective product. To perform printing, each newly-introduced substrate is roughly mechanically aligned, with an optical system detecting sub-millimeter misalignment, and with software correcting for misalignment. Rendering of adjusted data is performed such that nozzles are variously assigned dependent on misalignment to deposit droplets in a regulated manner, to ensure precise deposition of liquid for each given area of the substrate. For example, applied to the manufacture of flat panel displays, software ensures that exactly the right amount of liquid is deposited for each “pixel” of the display, to minimize likelihood of visible discrepancies in the resultant display.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING COLOR IMAGES ON SUBSTRATES IN AN INKJET PRINTER

A color inkjet printer includes an electrode that emits an electric field into a gap between a printhead and a media transport that carries media past the printhead. Image data generated by an optical sensor after an ink image is printed on the media is analyzed to measure at least one image quality metric. When the measured image quality metric is outside of a tolerance range, the voltage of a voltage source electrically connected to the electrode is adjusted to improve the wetting of the media type with the ink ejected by the printhead.

Multilayer white printing with white-balance

White-balance is improved when printing on colored media, while minimizing the time and use of costly materials required by present approaches. In an embodiment, the typical solid white fill or background layer is altered by including in the white layer one or more of the other colors already available in the printer to shade this layer. Thus, a small amount of cyan, for example, helps balance a pink-ish (red) media; yellow is used for blue media; and magenta is used for green media; as well as combinations thereof. A combination of transparent process inks and opaque white helps to maintain brightness (luminosity).

Recording Method And Recording Device

A recording method includes: a white ink attachment step of ejecting a white ink composition containing a white coloring material from a white ink jet head and attaching the white ink composition to a recording medium; a non-white ink attachment step of ejecting a non-white ink composition containing a non-white coloring material from a non-white ink jet head and attaching the non-white ink composition to the recording medium; and a primary drying step of heating the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition attached to the recording medium by a drying mechanism. In the white ink attachment step and the non-white ink attachment step, a layer containing the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition is formed by performing main scanning multiple times, in which the ink compositions are ejected and attached to the recording medium, and by attaching the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition to the same scanning region in the recording medium by the same main scanning, while moving a position of an ink jet head relative to the recording medium.

A first set correction target value set for a correction target value generation region including a unit region corresponding to one or more nozzles is updated based on a difference between the first set correction target value and a print density in the unit region corresponding to the correction target value generation region. Also, a second set correction target value set for a correction target value generation region being adjacent to an updated region which is a correction target value generation region updated in the correction target value and having yet to be updated in the correction target value is updated based on a difference between the second set correction target value and the correction target value of the updated region.

A method includes providing a printhead for printing an image on a surface from two different printhead positions relative to the surface, the two different printhead positions at first and second orientations, wherein the at least one printhead and the surface move relative to each other along a print path having two potentially overlapping swathes, determining an overlap area on the surface for the two overlapping swathes wherein the overlap area is to be printed on from either of the two different printhead positions, determining for each position in the overlap area at which an inkjet drop may be printed the angle of incidence at the surface of that drop, and selecting a stitch point or region in the overlap area wherein the difference between the angles of incidence at the surface of drops from the two printhead positions is kept within an acceptable limit.
