A printing control apparatus includes a control unit configured to perform control so that a distribution ratio based on which color separation data separated as having a predetermined color is distributed into data for a first nozzle array and a distribution ratio based on which color separation data is distributed into data for a second nozzle array are different depending on a tone value in the color separation data, and a generation unit configured to generate printing data to be used for printing by the first nozzle array based on the distributed data for the first nozzle array and generate printing data to be used for printing by the second nozzle array based on the distributed data for the second nozzle array.

A recording device includes, when a transporting direction of a medium is set to a first axis and a direction intersecting with the transporting direction is set to a second axis, a head which includes a nozzle column along the first axis; a pair of heads in which the heads discharging droplets of the same color are paired; and a head unit which includes a plurality of pairs of heads along the second axis. The pair of heads include a predetermined overlapping portion in which the nozzle columns are overlapped with each other in a side view from the second axis, the overlapping portion includes a plurality of nozzle regions divided along the second axis, and a position of the nozzle region which is used in discharge of the droplets is different from a position of the nozzle region of another pair of heads.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a head unit that ejects ink onto a medium, a transport unit that transports the medium, and a control unit that forms an adjustment pattern on the medium, and the control unit forms, as the adjustment pattern, a pattern including a first pattern that is formed in a transport direction, a plurality of scales that are formed in the transport direction, and a second pattern that is formed at a position corresponding to the scales in the transport direction while the position thereof in a main-scanning direction that intersects the transport direction is changed.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a head unit that ejects ink onto a medium, a transport unit that transports the medium, and a control unit that forms an adjustment pattern on the medium, and the control unit forms, as the adjustment pattern, a pattern including a first pattern that is formed in a transport direction, a plurality of scales that are formed in the transport direction, and a second pattern that is formed at a position corresponding to the scales in the transport direction while the position thereof in a main-scanning direction that intersects the transport direction is changed.

A color printer includes: a printing unit configured to print check patterns and explanatory texts for the check patterns; and an interface configured to accept a result of checking the check patterns from a user, and the printing unit prints the explanatory texts by using multiple colors and/or multiple nozzle rows.

One aspect of the invention is a printing apparatus, comprising a printhead including first and second nozzle arrays, and print control means for performing printing by driving the printhead while reciprocally moving it as a serial head, wherein the first nozzle array discharges a color ink, the second nozzle array discharges a reaction liquid, for each of a forward path and a backward path, an adjustment pattern is formed by overlaying a pattern of the reaction liquid and a pattern of the color ink, and, in a case of forming the adjustment pattern in the backward path, an underlying pattern is further formed by the second nozzle array in a preceding forward path.
