DEVICE AND METHOD OF DETERMINING AMOUNT OF TRANSPARENT LIQUID TO BE JETTED, AN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND AN IMAGE FORMING METHOD
Test patterns are printed by ink jet means for jetting ink containing a color material and transparent liquid jet means for jetting transparent liquid. In the test patterns, ink and transparent liquid are applied to different regions on the same medium and ink application regions and transparent liquid application regions are arranged adjacent to each other. A device for determining the amount of transparent liquid to be jetted includes information acquisition means for acquiring information representing the amount of medium deformation of a medium on which the test patterns are printed, and information processing means for determining the amount of transparent liquid to be jetted by the transparent liquid jet means for jetting the transparent liquid, from the information representing the amount of medium deformation acquired by the information acquisition means.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING ON A CLEAR POLYMERIC FILM WEB
A system (20) and method for printing on clear polymeric film web (24) are disclosed. A first stationary inkjet print unit (44, 60, 70, 82) has first ejection nozzles that span a width of the clear polymeric film web and a second stationary inkjet print unit (44, 60, 70, 82) has second ejection nozzles that span the width of the clear polymeric film web. A web transport conveys the clear polymeric film web past the stationary inkjet print units. First and second print controllers operate the first and second and stationary inkjet print units to deposit drops of a first and a second material on the clear polymeric film web at a first and a second resolution, respectively. In addition, dimensions and position of a page element to be printed on the clear polymeric film web are adjusted to compensate for distortion that may occur to the printed page element due to shrinking of the clear polymeric film web.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CORRECTION METHOD THEREFOR
A printing apparatus includes a printhead having a plurality of chips each including a plurality of nozzle arrays which are arranged in a predetermined nozzle array direction and each of which is formed from a plurality of nozzles and energy generation elements provided in correspondence with the nozzles of each nozzle array and each configured to generate energy used for discharging ink. The apparatus relatively moves the printhead and a print medium in a direction intersecting the nozzle array direction, reads a predetermined test pattern printed on the print medium by driving the printhead, analyzes the read test pattern, calculates a slant of the printhead with respect to a reference based on a result of the analysis, and corrects the calculated slant of the printhead by moving the printhead.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printer includes a printing unit that ejects an ink from an inkjet head onto a medium, and a mist suction unit that suctions mist of the ink. The printing unit includes a first inkjet head, and a second inkjet head provided downstream of the first inkjet head in a transport direction of the medium. The mist suction unit includes a first mist suction device provided between the first inkjet head and the second inkjet head in the transport direction, a second mist suction device provided downstream of the second inkjet head in the transport direction, a first flow path coupling a blower and the first mist suction device, and a second flow path coupling the blower and the second mist suction device. A suction force of the second mist suction device is stronger than a suction force of the first mist suction device.
RECORDING APPARATUS
In at least one embodiment, a number of nozzle rows in a first area on a side of one end of a first substrate closest to one end of a print head is set to be lower than a number of nozzle rows on a central side of the print head relative to the first area, and energy for driving the element on the first substrate is set to be larger than energy for driving the element on a second substrate on the central side of the print head relative to the first substrate to set a dot to be formed on the recording medium by ink discharged from a nozzle in the first area to be larger than a dot to be formed on the recording medium by ink discharged from a nozzle in the second substrate.
LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND LIQUID DISCHARGE METHOD
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge device and circuitry. The liquid discharge device includes a plurality of rows of nozzles. The circuitry determines a timing at which the plurality of nozzles discharge the liquid based on a density of a plurality of patch images. Each of the plurality of patch images includes a reference dot and an adjustment dot. The reference dot and the adjustment dot are formed by the liquid discharged from the plurality of nozzles in a first row and in a second row, respectively, of the plurality of rows of nozzles. The reference dot corresponds to a prescribed base pixel. The adjustment dot corresponds to an adjustment pixel adjacent to the base pixel in the width direction. The adjustment pixel is shifted from the base pixel in the conveyance direction by a number of pixels that differs for each of the plurality of patch images.
INKJET HEAD MODULE HOLDER ASSEMBLY AND INKJET RECORDER
A holder assembly that holds a head module including an inkjet head on a mounting table, the holder assembly including a pressure member and an operation member. The pressure member presses a portion of the head module adjacent to the mounting table. The operation member transitions the pressure member from a first state to a second state when work of mounting the head module on the mounting table is performed. In the first state, the pressing by the pressure member is deactivated, and in the second state, the pressing by the pressure member is activated. The operation member exists outside an enveloping surface of the head module during the work of mounting the head module on the mounting table.
Printing apparatus and correction method therefor
A printing apparatus includes a printhead having a plurality of chips, each including a plurality of nozzle arrays which are arranged in a predetermined nozzle array direction and each of which is formed from a plurality of nozzles and energy generation elements provided in correspondence with the nozzles of each nozzle array and each configured to generate energy used for discharging ink.
