Apparatus for packaging an item
A system and process of printing a package of expanded material (e.g., expanded starch, foam or other expanded material). The expanded material can be heated and extruded, poured, sprayed, or otherwise applied in malleable form that sets up to become a porous protective covering for an item to be packaged. In an example, a layer of expanded material is laid down, and the item in a protective covering (e.g., a plastic bag, sleeve, coating, etc.) is positioned on the layer of expanded material. Additional layers or expanded material may be applied, thereby encasing the item. The top surface of the expanded material may be flattened, such as by operation of a roller, press, or cutter. The top surface may be sprayed with a shellac sealant, paint, or other coating, to allow printing of a label on the top surface.

This inkjet printing device comprises a conveyance path by which a sheet to be assembled as a corrugated cardboard box having a plurality of walls is conveyed in a conveyance direction, and inkjet heads that are positioned facing the surface of the sheet in the conveyance path and that can print a printed pattern in predetermined print ranges of an intersecting direction that intersects the conveyance direction along the surface of the sheet. The inkjet heads are positioned so that the print ranges span between first regions, which are intended to be first walls when the sheet is assembled into a corrugated cardboard box, and second regions, which are adjacent to the first regions in the intersecting direction and are intended to be second walls separate from the first walls.
Method of Preparing a Packaging Box
A method of preparing a packaging box (50) wherein late stage customization (20) is provided on the inside of the packaging box. Late stage customization is provided on a folded packaging box. Late stage customization is provided by an imaging technique selected from laser marking, laser engraving, thermal printing and inkjet printing. The packaging box includes an image-receiving layer adapted to the imaging-technique.

An image recording apparatus includes a light source, a switching drive circuit configured to control an electric current for causing the light source to emit a light beam, a moving part configured to move one of a recording target on which an image is to be recorded by the light beam and a light emitting position at which the light beam is emitted relative to another one of the recording target and the light emitting position, and a controller configured to control a light emission timing of the light source and a relative moving speed of the moving part based on image information. The drive circuit includes a switching circuit configured to turn on and off a switching element. The controller is configured to change a switching frequency of the switching element according to at least one of the light emission timing and the relative moving speed.
Marking system for marking a marking object
A marking system (1) for marking a marking object (2) comprises a marking device (13) for attaching a marking (20) on a marking object (2), a detection device (15, 16) for detecting identification information (300) associated with the marking object (2), and a control device (10) for controlling the marking device (13), the control device (10) being designed to authenticate identification information (300) detected by the detection device (15, 16) and to control the marking device (13) on the basis of the authentication. In this way, a marking system for marking a marking object is provided, which makes reliable marking of permitted marking objects possible.

An image recording apparatus includes a light source, a switching drive circuit configured to control an electric current for causing the light source to emit a light beam, a moving part configured to move one of a recording target on which an image is to be recorded by the light beam and a light emitting position at which the light beam is emitted relative to another one of the recording target and the light emitting position, and a controller configured to control a light emission timing of the light source and a relative moving speed of the moving part based on image information. The drive circuit includes a switching circuit configured to turn on and off a switching element. The controller is configured to change a switching frequency of the switching element according to at least one of the light emission timing and the relative moving speed.
PRINTING ON FREE SURFACES
A printer has first and second print sections 100, 200 joined along a line 12, and a controller 50. Each section contains a printhead 120; 220 travelling on a track 110; 210. A frame or frame part 104 supports the track and is driven on wheels by a motor, so that the printer can travel autonomously along a horizontally extending step edge, printing as it goes. It further includes a sensor for detecting the proximity of the vertical face 5v of the step. The printer can thus be set to print advertising, for instance, on the steps of a stadium.
