THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, DISCOLORED OR DECOLORIZED PRINTED MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING DISCOLORED OR DECOLORIZED PRINTED MATERIAL
A thermal transfer sheet according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a substrate and a sublimation transfer discoloration- or decolorization-imparting layer disposed on one surface side of the substrate, in which the sublimation transfer discoloration- or decolorization-imparting layer contains at least a compound responsible for discoloration or decolorization and a binder resin.
INK COMPOSITIONS
An ink composition includes a fluid and a plurality of microcapsules suspended in the fluid. The fluid includes a first chemical compound that exhibits a first color characteristic in a first pH range and exhibits a second color characteristic in a second pH range, where the first color characteristic is visually distinct from the second color characteristic. A second chemical compound is contained within the microcapsules, such that rupturing at least a subset of the plurality of microcapsules releases the second chemical compound. Releasing the second chemical compound shifts a pH of the fluid from a first pH in the first pH range to a second pH in the second pH range.
Method of forming an image on a substrate
A method of forming an image on a substrate by applying energy, involves a substrate in or on which there are at least two different color-change agents, i.e. a first color-change agent capable of giving rise to at least two different colors; and a second color-change agent capable of giving rise to at least one different color than achievable with the first color change agent. A preferred embodiment of the invention is a multi-layer laminate comprising, in order, a layer comprising the first agent, a barrier layer, and a layer comprising the second agent.
Printable coating
A primer-less coating composition for facestock comprises: a binder being a water-dispersible polymer; an ethylenically unsaturated compound which is aqueous-dispersible and miscible with or bonded to said water-dispersible polymer, wherein said ethylenically unsaturated compound is able to form a covalent bond with an ink; and a crosslinker, wherein said crosslinker is suitable for binding the coating to the facestock. The coating composition may be applied to a substrate to form a printable film. A printed film in accordance with the invention may be used in a label, for example for use on a container such as a bottle.
Medium, medium producing method, and medium producing apparatus
Provided is a medium including: a base material; and a print section over the base material, wherein the print section contains an alcohol compound having a boiling point of 180 degrees C. or higher and a viscosity of 30 mPa.Math.s or lower at 25 degrees C., and wherein the medium includes an adhesive section containing an isocyanate compound.
PRETREATMENT LIQUID, INK SET, BASE MATERIAL FOR IMAGE RECORDING, METHOD OF PRODUCING BASE MATERIAL FOR IMAGE RECORDING, IMAGE RECORDING MATERIAL, AND IMAGE RECORDING METHOD
A pretreatment liquid is a pretreatment liquid to be used for a pretreatment that is performed on an impermeable base material before an image is recorded on the impermeable base material, including a resin and an aqueous medium, in which the resin has at least one selected from the group consisting of a structural unit (1), and a structural unit (2), a glass transition temperature of the resin is −40° C. or higher and lower than 100° C., and a content of an alkyl (meth)acrylate unit containing a C2 or more chain alkyl group in the resin is less than 5% by mass. In the formulae, R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1 to C4 alkyl group, A.sup.2 represents —NH— or —N(L.sup.4-Y.sup.4)—, L.sup.2 and L.sup.4 represent a divalent group or a single bond, L.sup.3 represents a divalent group, Y.sup.2 and Y.sup.4 represent a monovalent group such as an alkyl group, and Y.sup.3 represents a monovalent group such as —OH.

Ink jet ink composition for textile printing, ink set, and recording method
An ink jet ink composition for textile printing including a dye and 5% to 30% by mass of a cyclic amide that is liquid at normal temperature and that has a normal boiling point in the range of 190 C. to 260 C., wherein the hue angle h defined by the CIELAB color space on a recording medium ranges from 15 to 80 degrees.
Printing apparatus and printing method
A printing mode for performing printing to a printing medium and a determination mode for determining the application amount of a reaction liquid to a discharge medium can be performed. In the determination mode, a reaction liquid application unit forms a layer of the reaction liquid on the discharge medium, and then an ink application unit applies an ink onto a part of the layer to form a test pattern to be utilized for the determination. In the formation of the test pattern, an image to be formed by the ink by the aggregation of a solid content in the applied ink partially moves and shrinks on the layer of the reaction liquid to be thereby deformed with a grade according to the applied reaction liquid.
