As the protective layer comprises a specific silane-modified acrylic resin which is an aqueous emulsion of core-shell type p articles, in a thermosensitive recording medium having a thermosensitive recording layer on a substrate and a protective layer on the thermosensitive recording layer, the thermosensitive re cording medium has a sufficient water resistance and also has a superior color developing sensitivity, print image quality when printing at high speed, ink fixability and solvent resistance and the like.
LASER RECORDING DEVICE
A laser recording device of an embodiment is for a thermal recording medium in which at least one color development layer developing a color through heat and a protective layer protecting recorded information obtained through color development of the at least one color development layer are laminated, and has light transmission properties before recording. The laser recording device includes a recording head in which emitters emitting laser light from laser light sources are arranged, and a recording controller performing parallel processing of control for causing the laser light sources to emit light independently of each other and guiding the laser light from the emitters to the thermal recording medium.
SHIELDED DIRECT THERMAL LABEL AND METHODS
A roll of direct-thermal material may have a length of direct-thermal material including a facestock. An adhesive layer is on a first side of the facestock. A direct thermal coating is on a second side of the facestock, the direct thermal coating configured to selectively darken by heat activation when direct thermal printed. a cured ultraviolet LED coating is on the direct thermal coating, the cured ultraviolet LED coating having photoinitiators with substantial activation at an exposure limited to LED radiation at a 365 nm-450 nm wavelength range, and configured to allow direct thermal printing of the direct thermal coating therethrough, the cured ultraviolet LED coating curable without heat activating the direct thermal coating. The length of direct-thermal material being rolled on itself.
PRINTED MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED MATERIAL AND PRINTING MEDIUM FOR LASER PRINTING
An object of the present invention is to provide a print product which has a printed region where printing with ultraviolet laser is applied and which is excellent in viewability, a method for producing a print product by irradiation with ultraviolet laser, and a printing medium for laser printing, for use in the print product and the method for producing a print product. The print product of the present invention has a printed region comprising discolored titanium oxide in at least one portion of a sheet medium selected from the group consisting of paper or a film having a printable region comprising titanium oxide; titanium oxide is filled in the sheet medium; a titanium oxide content in the printable region in the sheet medium is 1.0% by mass or more, pulp constituting the paper has a length-weighted average fiber length and an average fiber width in specified ranges, and the paper has a basis weight of 20 g/m.sup.2 or more, when the sheet medium is the paper; a titanium oxide content in the printable region in the sheet medium is 0.3% by mass or more, the film has a thickness of 15 μm or more, and a resin constituting the film comprises a specified resin, when the sheet medium is the film; and a ratio between a Raman intensity assigned to titanium oxide in the printed region and a Raman intensity assigned to titanium oxide in a non-printed region is 0.70 or less.
HEAT-SENSITIVE RECORDING BODY
A thermal recording medium includes: a transparent base material and a thermal recording layer on the base material. The thermal recording layer contains a dispersant having a carboxyl group and a crosslinking agent including an epichlorohydrin-modified polyamide polyamine resin or an organic compound containing an oxazoline group.
Combined receipt and label roll having optimal adhesive patch patterns and a method of manufacturing thereof
A combined receipt and label roll comprises a core, and a web having a longitudinally-extending axis and wound on the core along the axis. The web includes (i) a substrate having a front side and a back side opposite the front side, (ii) a thermally-sensitive coating disposed on the front side of the substrate, and (iii) a water-based microsphere adhesive disposed on the back side of the substrate along the web axis. The water-based microsphere adhesive comprises at least four separate adhesive patches. The at least four adhesive patches are both sized relative to each other and positioned relative to each other on the back side of the substrate such that additional tack desired can be obtained by increasing volume of the adhesive patches without having to increase coat weight of the adhesive patches.
