Multizone On-Demand Printable Construct
A laminated construct such as a ticket or game piece includes an internal on-demand thermally printable layer hidden between substantially opaque substrates. One of the substrates is a metallized film and the other substrate is a direct thermal print medium. The construct can be arranged in various ways including an arrangement for presenting some thermally printed information for immediate viewing and other thermally printed information that is temporarily hidden from view beneath the metallized film. The arrangements include arranging the metallized film as a plurality of island that are individually peelable apart from the direct thermal print medium for revealing the temporarily hidden information.
COLOR CHART AND METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SUCH A COLOR CHART
A color chart (1) for helping in the choice of a cosmetic product chosen within a range of cosmetic products having different respective hues, the color chart (1) comprising at least one transparent or translucent support (2) and, for at least one of said hues, at least one non-opaque, white-colored layer (5) and at least one non-opaque, colored layer (6), the color of which is close to that of the hue which it is desired to reproduce, superimposed on the white-colored layer (5), the white-colored (5) and colored (6) layers being printed on the transparent or translucent support (2).
Security-enhanced instant tickets via homogeneous utilization of ticket backing and variable indicia inks or dyes
A security-enhanced document includes a substrate and variable indicia comprising ink having a signal. The variable indicia is of a specific type and is applied to the substrate using a specific application technique. At least one other printed portion, which is a back of the document, has background ink noise, and the type of ink of the back of the document is of the same type of ink applied to the substrate using the same application technique as the ink of the variable indicia. The document also includes a scratch-off-coating applied over the variable indicia. The document has a signal-to-noise ratio of the ink of the variable indicia relative to the background ink noise of the back of the document that is not appreciable, thereby making the variable indicia unreadable with reference to the back of the document when the scratch-off-coating remains intact.
Gimmick expression medium producing method and data processing method for gimmick expression medium
A gimmick expression medium producing method forms a gimmick expression medium 300. The gimmick expression medium 300 includes a retroreflective medium 1. A printing medium 301 placed on the retroreflective medium 1 includes a light-transmission layer 302. A gimmick print 303 which varies color of reflective light of the retroreflective medium 1 to produce a gimmick effect is printed on the light-transmission layer 302. The printing medium 301 is provided with a light-blocking layer 304 which partially blocks reflective light reflected by the retroreflective medium 1. The light-blocking layer 304 is composed of a white printing layer, and a reflection picture print 305 is printed on the light-blocking layer 304. The reflection pattern printing 305 and the gimmick print 303 are placed in adjacent to each other using a stripe-shaped (or dot-shaped) lattice pattern 306, printing which can be seen on a printed matter under normal illumination and printing which can be seen under light source such as flash light can be printed at one time (one-pass) by the same printer.
System and Method for Composing Personalized Scratch-Off Lottery Tickets
An instant lottery ticket game system includes a set of scratch-off lottery ticket blanks, each lottery ticket blank having a front face and a back face and a game play area on the front face with play indicia that presents a pre-determined game outcome, the play indicia covered by a scratch-off coating (SOC). A coating layer is applied over at least the game play area such that an entirety of the front face presents an empty composition area void of lottery ticket indicia. The set of lottery ticket blanks are housed within an automated dispenser. An interface is configured with the dispenser and is in communication with a printer associated with the dispenser and accepts input of composition indicia from a patron for printing on portions of or the entirety of the front face to generate a finished scratch-off lottery ticket prior to dispensing the finished lottery ticket.
SCRATCH-OFF DOCUMENT MICROSCRATCHING COUNTERMEASURES
A full-color protected document, printing method, and system secured by removable Scratch-Off Coatings where the protection against microscratch type attacks is provided by ensuring strategic placement of similarly colored and/or patterned variable indicia. By printing the variable indicia with similarly standards, usability and integrity of the printed indicia are achieved relative to the consumer's perspective while at the same time providing countermeasures to illicit microscratching attacks.
Secure Substrate for Scratch-Off Products
In one embodiment, a secure substrate provides a print-ready surface for printing scratch-off products and eliminates the need to print lower security layers for protecting against attempts to view hidden indicia information. In one embodiment, a secure substrate comprises applying microperforations to a dyed substrate that meets a predefined transmission optical density to resist an attempt to reduce the opacity of the dyed substrate by delamination. In another embodiment, a secure substrate comprises applying a lower opacity layer and a lower background layer on a substrate to provide a secure substrate that meets a predefined transmission optical density. In another embodiment, a secure substrate comprises applying a lower opacity layer on a substrate, applying a reflective coating, and applying a lower background layer over the reflective coating to provide a secure substrate that meets a predefined transmission optical density.
System and method for printing scratch-off lottery tickets
A method for producing scratch-off lottery tickets in a high speed printing line is provided, wherein the printing line includes one or more inkjet printing machines that print lottery tickets on a continuously running paper stock. One or more primer layers are applied to a surface of the paper stock in a defined game play area on each lottery ticket. With the inkjet printing machines game play indicia is printed over the primer layers in the game play area on each lottery ticket at a resolution of at least 600 dpi. The running paper stock is conveyed through the inkjet printing machines at a rate of at least 950 ft./min. The ink jet printing machines use a specially formulated dye-based ink.
