DIGITAL PRINTING PROCESS AND RESULTING PACKAGING MATERIAL

A digital printing process for printing an image (I) including a white area (W) and/or a coloured area (C) on a packaging material includes selecting a packaging material with a substantially white side, and preparing print data to be sent to a printing means taking into account that the side of the packaging material is substantially white. The print data represents one or more first image areas (A1) representing the image (I), and one or more second image areas (A2) representing a packaging look (L), to be printed on the substantially white side of the packaging material, outside the one or more first image areas (A1) where the image (I) is to be located. The method further includes printing by the printing means on the substantially white side of the packaging material using the print data.

IMAGE PRINTING METHOD, IMAGE PRINTING APPARATUS, AND PRINTED MATTER

Provided is an image printing method including a first processing fluid applying step of applying a first processing fluid containing a multivalent metal salt to a predetermined region of a print medium, and a second processing fluid applying step of applying a second processing fluid containing a resin emulsion containing an anionic functional group to the predetermined region of the print medium to which the first processing fluid is applied and any other region of the print medium to which the first processing fluid is not applied.

An ink jet recording method includes a treatment liquid attachment step, in which a treatment liquid is attached to a recording medium, and an ink attachment step, in which a water-based ink composition is attached to the recording medium. An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording medium support and a heating mechanism that heats the recording medium support. The ink attachment step is carried out with the recording medium supported and heated by the recording medium support. In the ink attachment step, the recording medium is heated so that a surface thereof reaches a maximum temperature of 28.0° C. or more and 45.0° C. or less. The ratio between absorbances A and B (A/B) is 0.5 or more and 0.95 or less, where absorbance A is that of a 0.1% by mass mixture of the water-based ink composition in the treatment liquid, and absorbance B is that of a 0.1% by mass mixture of the water-based ink composition in purified water. The recording medium support has a flat support surface for supporting the recording medium.

An inkjet recording method contains the sequential steps of: applying an aqueous pre-coat composition to a substrate, or applying and drying the aqueous pre-coat composition to the substrate; and subsequently applying and drying an aqueous ink composition. The aqueous pre-coat composition contains at least an aggregating agent. The aqueous ink composition contains at least a pigment, a polymer dispersant, and resin fine particles. The aggregating agent is selected from a pyrolytic cation resin, an organic acid, or a multivalent metal salt. A neutralizer for the polymer dispersant is selected from an organic amine. In the step of drying the aqueous ink composition, a temperature at which the aqueous ink composition is dried is set to be equal to or higher than a pyrolytic temperature of the aggregating agent.

PRETREATMENT LIQUID FOR IMPERMEABLE BASE MATERIAL, INK SET, BASE MATERIAL FOR IMAGE RECORDING, METHOD OF PRODUCING BASE MATERIAL FOR IMAGE RECORDING, IMAGE RECORDED MATERIAL, AND IMAGE RECORDING METHOD

A pretreatment liquid for an impermeable base material includes an anionic resin, and an aqueous medium, in which the anionic resin has a Clog P value of 1.40 or greater, and a content of a structural unit derived from an alkyl (meth)acrylate containing a chain alkyl group having 2 or more carbon atoms in the anionic resin is less than 5% by mass with respect to a total mass of the anionic resin.

IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND INK SET

An image forming method includes a step of forming a white image by bringing a solution (A) containing a dissolved metal compound and a solution (B) containing a reactive ion reactive with a metal element of the metal compound into contact with each other on a recording medium to produce a white compound.

FLUID SETS FOR INKJET IMAGING

The present disclosure is drawn to a fluid set for inkjet imaging which includes a white inkjet ink and a fixer fluid. The white ink can include an aqueous ink vehicle, from 5 wt % to 50 wt % of a white metal oxide pigment having an average particulate size from 100 nm to 2,000 nm, and from 0.1 wt % to 4 wt % of anionic oxide particulates having an average particulate size from 1 nm to 100 nm. The white ink can also include a non-ionic or predominantly non-ionic dispersant having an acid number not higher than 100 mg KOH/g based on dry polymer weight. The fixer fluid can include an aqueous fixer vehicle and from 0.1 wt % to 25 wt % cationic polymer.
