COMPOSITIONS AND PROTECTIVE COATINGS MADE THEREFROM
There is disclosed a condensation curable coating composition in the form of an oil-in-oil emulsion, the coating composition being able to protect surfaces coated therewith from undesired contamination by materials coming in contact therewith. The surfaces to be so protected by the coating composition, once cured, can, by way of illustration, be of parts of printing systems and the materials coming in contact with such surfaces can be ink images or residues thereof.
ENGRAVED ROLLER FOR FLEXOGRAPHIC AND GRAVURE PRINTING
A roller for use with a printing apparatus to transfer a liquid to a plate or substrate is provided. The roller, also referred to as a cylinder, has an engraved surface with a linear cell-contained channel engraving pattern. The linear cell-contained channel engraving pattern has a linear channel at a channel engraved angle and a plurality of cells with pockets at a cell pocket positioned angle located within the linear channel. An engraving pattern and method of using the pattern to reduce spitting in printing processes are provided.
Process for producing a printing surface
A process for producing a fluid transfer surface, which process comprises: providing a titanium or titanium alloy surface; subjecting the titanium or titanium alloy surface to surface hardening by interstitial element absorption to provide a hardened surface; and, if required engraving the hardened surface to provide a desired surface topography.
Abrasion-resistant rubber roll cover with polyurethane coating
An industrial roll includes: a substantially cylindrical metallic core; a rubber base layer that is adhered to and circumferentially overlies the core; a rubber top stock layer that circumferentially overlies the base layer; and a polyurethane coating that circumferentially overlies the top stock layer. In this configuration, the roll can provide improved abrasion-resistance, sheet release properties, and/or toughness compared to a roll with a rubber cover, but may provide these properties in a cover that is softer than a typical polyurethane cover.
FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE PRECURSOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE
An object of the present invention is to provide a flexographic printing plate precursor which has few mask defects, is unlikely to contaminate an apparatus during development, and is capable of obtaining a flexographic printing plate having excellent concave line reproducibility and being unlikely to cause ink entanglement; and a manufacturing method of a flexographic printing plate using the flexographic printing plate precursor. The flexographic printing plate precursor of the present invention is a flexographic printing plate precursor including, at least, in the following order, a support, a photosensitive resin layer, and a heat-sensitive image forming layer, in which the heat-sensitive image forming layer contains a pigment as an infrared absorber and a dye as an ultraviolet absorber, and an optical density of the heat-sensitive image forming layer is 3.0 or more.
Zero alcohol offset printing system
This invention relates to a zero alcohol offset printing system, comprises the following parts: Plate cylinder (3), its outer cylindrical surface is covered by printing plate (4); Ink exertion system (1), which comprises ink source (8) and several inking rollers, to exert ink to the printing plate; Dampening liquid exertion system (2), which comprises dampening liquid source (7) and several dampening rollers, to exert dampening liquid to the printing plate; wherein the dampening rollers include a distributor roller (6); wherein the structure of the distributor roller (6) is as follows: it comprises a metal cylinder surrounded by a ceramic layer, and the ceramic layer has texture on its outer surface; wherein the content of alcohol or ether in the dampening liquid is zero.
