Additional member attaching apparatus and binding system including the same
The embodiment includes: a roll accommodation unit that accommodates a roll of a continuous sheet of additional member; an unwinding unit that unwinds and draws the additional member from the roll accommodation unit to a trimming station; a trimming unit that is arranged in the trimming station and cuts and trims the additional member in accordance with the size of a book block to form a strip of additional member; a gripper that grips the strip of additional member while supporting the under face thereof, moves between a retracted position inside a housing and a forward position outside the housing, and moves between the forward position and a raised position above the forward position; and a handover unit that hands over the strip of additional member from the trimming station to the gripper located in the retracted position.
SHEET BINDING DEVICE
In accordance with an embodiment, a sheet binding device comprises a sheet shift section, a tape attaching section, an information acquisition section and a controller. The sheet shift section shifts a plurality of sheets forming a sheet bundle from each other at an edge of the sheet bundle. The tape attaching section attaches a tape to the edge of the sheet bundle. The information acquisition section acquires information relating to at least one of the plurality of the sheets, the tape, and a binding method of the sheet bundle by the tape. The controller changes a shift amount between sheets in the plurality of the sheets that is shifted by the sheet shift section based on the information acquired by the information acquisition section.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED PRODUCTS WITH INTEGRATED COVER
The invention is directed to a method for producing printed products, in particular softcover books, with integrated cover, where method includes at least the steps: printing of paper web or individually supplied paper sheets, preferably by means of digital printing; single or multiple folding and cutting of paper web to form signatures or else single or multiple folding of paper sheets to form signatures; stacking of signatures to form signature stack with at least one top and one bottom signature; folding open top sheet of top signature or else bottom sheet of bottom signature and applying an adhesive layer in at least area of folded-open sheet, which is intended to include at least spine and/or an area of signature stack adjacent to spine; and turning over sheet folded open and provided with adhesive layer around spine of signature stack, so that cover for printed product is formed.
Sheet processing device and image forming device provided with the same
A sheet processing device includes: an adhesive-binding unit that applies an adhesive onto sheets stored in a stacker section one by one and adhesive-binds the sheets; a staple-binding unit that staple-binds sheets accumulated in the stacker section by means of staples; and a folding mechanism section having a folding roller that folds the adhesive-bound or staple-bound sheet bundle in two at a binding position of the adhesive-binding unit or staple-binding unit and a folding blade that pushes the bound sheet bundle into the folding roller. A folding speed of the folding mechanism section for the sheet bundle bound by the adhesive-binding unit is lower than a folding speed for the sheet bundle bound by the staple-binding unit; thereby, productivity of the folding processing is improved and occurrence of the peeling-off or break during the folding processing is reduced.
Apparatus for abrading an end of a stack of sheets to be bound
An apparatus to facilitate the binding of sheets using heat activated adhesives, with the sheets having coatings that resist binding. A stack of sheets is abraded prior to binding, with the apparatus gripping the stack so that a stack end to be bound is exposed. An abrading head containing a plurality of reciprocating pins is positioned so that pins can be controlled to repeatedly strike the stack end along the length of the end. This action results in abrading the stack end thereby producing relatively long fibers from the coated sheets that absorb the binder strip adhesive thereby achieving a strong bind notwithstanding the adhesive-resistant coating.
BINDING DEVICE
Disclosed is a binding device for binding a bundle of leaves in a binding element of a magnetic material, whereby this binding device is provided with a support for the binding element that is formed by a U-shaped profile with a base and two legs, whereby this binding device is provided with a heating element that is between the legs of the profile and makes contact with the base. The binding device is provided with a switch for switching the heating element with a magnet that is between the legs of the profile and can move towards the base of the profile, whereby the profile is provided with wings oriented towards the center of the profile that keep the magnet at a distance from the base and/or the heating element when the magnet moves towards the base of the profile.
APPARATUS FOR LOADING BINDER STRIPS INTO A BINDING MACHINE
DEVICE FOR THE ROBOTIC PRINTING OF INDIVIDUALLY-PRINTED BOOKS, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A device for manufacturing a book on demand, including a cover printing or receiving station designed to respectively print or receive a cover, a body printing or receiving station designed to respectively print or receive a body, a binding station designed to join together the body and the cover, a conveyor designed and/or programmed to convey the cover and/or the body between the different stations, the device is designed to deposit glue in a gluing region on the verso of the cover inside the binding station before the cover and the body are joined together by gluing, forming a book.
