PAPER FORMING MOLD, MOLD MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND PAPER MANUFACTURED BY FORMING MOLD

A paper forming mold, comprising a roller (1). A number of through micropores are formed on a wall of the roller (1), and one or more patterns and characters of a normal watermark, a white watermark, a windowed security thread, and a paper marker are carved on the wall of the roller (1). The paper forming mold has a high reproducibility for an original watermark design draft, improves consistency, clarity, three-dimensionality, detail refinement and richness of the watermark in paper, and thus enhances the anti-counterfeiting function of the watermarked paper; the service life of the paper forming mold is prolonged; and the automation level of paper forming mold manufacturing is improved, and the labor intensity is greatly reduced.

LAYER STRUCTURE WITH MODIFIED STRUCTURE, AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

The invention relates to a layer structure containing: (A) a first transparent radiation-engravable layer (A) with a first surface a1) and a second surface a2) which runs substantially parallel to the surface a1), said first layer (A) having a colorful or black part-engraving, said engraving being generated by means of nonionizing electromagnetic radiation (E), on the first surface a1) which forms a first outer surface of the layer structure; (B) optionally an additional transparent radiation-engravable layer (B) with a first surface b1) facing towards the first layer (A) and another surface b2) facing away from the first layer (A) and running substantially parallel to the surface b1); and (C) optionally at least one additional transparent plastic layer (C), wherein the additional layer (C) is selectively provided in one of a group of options consisting of: on the face of the first surface a1) of the layer (A), on the face of the additional surface b2) of the additional layer (B), between the two layers (A) and (B), or, in the event of additional layers (C), a combination of at least two of said options, and an image of the colorful or black part-engraving is located on the surface of the layer structure in the form of a nontransparent structural modification forming an additional outer surface of the layer structure and lying opposite the first surface a1). The invention likewise relates to the production of the layer structure as well as to a security document containing the layer structure according to the invention.

Authentication of a Physical Credential

Aspects described herein may provide detection of a physical characteristic of a credential, thereby allowing for authentication of the credential. According to some aspects, these and other benefits may be achieved by detecting the physical characteristic with the credential. An image of a credential may be received. An optical characteristic of a secure feature of the credential may be determined. An expected optical characteristic of the secure feature may be determined based on known properties of the secure feature. A determination as to whether the credential is authentic may be based on a comparison of the determined optical characteristic of the secure feature to the expected optical characteristic of the secure feature.

OFFSET PRINTING UTILIZING IMAGE MOVEMENT

A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the second symbol are not distinguishably visible, when viewed with transmitted light.
