A thermochromic writing instrument, comprising: a writing body, storing a thermochromic ink therein, stored in a barrel; an operation body provided in the barrel to be operated to longitudinally move the writing body; a nib of the writing body configured to be capable of appearing from a front end of the writing instrument, wherein the writing instrument further includes a friction unit, rubbing handwriting in the thermochromic ink and capable of thermally changing the color of the handwriting by frictional heat generated at that time, and at least one clip body as the operation body, the friction unit is provided at a rear end of the barrel, and the clip body is provided in an area other than the rear end of the barrel.

A thermochromic writing instrument, comprising: a writing body, storing a thermochromic ink therein, stored in a barrel; an operation body provided in the barrel to be operated to longitudinally move the writing body; a nib of the writing body configured to be capable of appearing from a front end of the writing instrument, wherein the writing instrument further includes a friction unit, rubbing handwriting in the thermochromic ink and capable of thermally changing the color of the handwriting by frictional heat generated at that time, and at least one clip body as the operation body, the friction unit is provided at a rear end of the barrel, and the clip body is provided in an area other than the rear end of the barrel.

Various embodiments provide a position pointer that includes a plurality of refill bodies that can be configured at low cost, and ensures freedom from malfunction during exchange of signals with a sensor section of a position detection device. In one embodiment, the position pointer includes a tubular housing having an opening portion, a plurality of refill bodies, a refill body selection mechanism section that selectively causes at least a tip of one of the plurality of refill bodies to project from the opening portion, a magnetic material core, and a coil wound around the magnetic material core. The refill bodies not selected by the refill body selection mechanism section are located away from a through hole of the magnetic material core.

Various embodiments provide a position pointer that includes a plurality of refill bodies that can be configured at low cost, and ensures freedom from malfunction during exchange of signals with a sensor section of a position detection device. Containers for products such as glue sticks are provided. The containers include a valve and a mechanical device for advancing a product through the container and for opening the valve. A single-handed extendable cosmetic applicator having an applicator body with a first, second, and third body shell portion and a selectively removable cover disposed at a second end of the applicator body that is operably configured to dispose an opening. The applicator body encapsulates a cosmetic applicator stem with an applicator surface. When the applicator is desired to be used, the user may rotate the second body shell portion with respect to the first body shell portion to cause the applicator surface to extend and retract through the opening with a single hand of a user. In some embodiments, the third shell portion may be selectively removable and include different cosmetic products for desired use by the user.

The invention relates to a writing implement such as a pen which includes a housing and an internal component in which there is provided a reservoir of ink. The internal component typically includes a portion such as a ballpoint which allows ink to be transferred from the reservoir to a surface to which the said portion is applied. The writing implement and/or internal component is rendered detectable by metal detection and/or X-ray detection apparatus when the internal component is within range of the same so that the internal component is detectable when separated, deliberately or inadvertently, from the remainder of the writing implement.
