Dry erase marker board system with solid wetting marker board
A marker board system having a dark colored, low hardness, low surface energy solid silicone sheet to wet to a vertically oriented high surface energy substrate on a smooth, flat back-side of the solid silicone sheet. A front-side of the solid silicone sheet is able to be written upon by brightly colored marker ink. The brightly colored marker ink is able to be easily erased from the front-side of the solid silicone sheet after being written upon the front-side of the solid silicone sheet. The front-side is roughened to diminish beading of the brightly colored marker ink when written on the front-side.
Laser printable dry-erase substrates and methods of their manufacture and use
Laser printable, dry-erase substrates, along with their methods of formation and use, are provided. The laser printable, dry-erase substrate can include a base sheet defining a surface and a dry-erase coating on the surface of the base sheet. The dry-erase coating comprises a film-forming polymeric material (e.g., a polyacryl, a polymethacryl, a polyurethane-polyacryl mixture, a polyurethane-polymethacryl mixture, an urethane-acryl copolymer, or a mixture thereof) and a wetting agent (e.g., a nonionic surfactant that has a polyethylene oxide chain and an aromatic hydrocarbon lipophilic or hydrophobic group). The film-forming polymeric material melts and flows at a laser printing temperature so as to bond to toner ink.
DRAWING BOOK
An erasable, polymeric paged writing book for small children, with textured, flexible, bordered pages and an internal spine to spread the book flat. The pages have rounded corners. The book closes by hook-and-loop tab. The pages have a smaller profile than the covers, for resistance to wear and distortion. A fold-away pocket holds chalk and grease pencils. Optionally, a pleated storage compartment is on one of the covers. The pages have a smaller profile than the covers, for resistance to wear and distortion.
1K 100% SOLIDS DRY-ERASE COATING COMPOSITION
Disclosed is a coating composition suitable for coating onto a wall or other substrate to yield a dry-erase coating. The composition may be prepared by providing an aminoalkoxysilane, and in the substantial absence of water, reacting a portion of the aminoalkoxysilane with a carbonate and reacting a portion of the aminoalkoxysilane with an epoxy compound. These reactions will result in a coating composition that comprises a mixture of alkoxysilylamines and alkoxysilylcarbamates. The coating composition can also include an alkyl amine in an amount effective to catalytically deprotect alkoxy groups to yield silanol groups, facilitating fast crosslinking.
ONE-PART WATERBORNE / WATER-BASED DRY ERASE PAINT AND ANTI-GRAFFITI PAINT
The present disclosure relates to one-pot, water-based/waterborne dry erasable paints, anti-graffiti paints, and surfaces. The dry erasable paints can be used to create dry erase coatings on virtually any type of substrate surface. The paints comprise an Si-containing compound, water, and an ingredient selected from the group consisting of binders, acids, salts, surfactants, and glycerin, and create a dry surface where the flexibility, adhesion, dye resistance, and chemical resistance best matches the substrate and use.
Projection and communication board and method for manufacturing it
Disclosed is a projection and communication board, having a double-sided enamelled steel plate with an enamel undercoat, on which a second white enamel coat is laid on the writing side, which after annealing presents a roughness defined by Ra =0.6-1.2 μm, Rz =3.0-8.0 μm, and R3z =3.0-8.0 μm. On this a third thin finishing coat is applied consisting of enamel powder, more than 90% of which consists of grains of less than 15 μm, and which after annealing presents a roughness defined by Ra =0.4-1.4 μm, Rz =2.0-6.0 μm, and R3z =2.0-6.0 μm.
METHODS OF REPLENISHING A WRITABLE AND CLEANABLE ARTICLE AND KITS
Methods and kits including writable and cleanable articles, wherein in one embodiment, a method of replenishing a hydrophilic surface on a writable and cleanable article is provided. The method comprising: providing a writable and cleanable article that includes a hydrophilic overcoat that has an at least partially depleted (i.e., at least partially exhausted) hydrophilic surface; and applying a cleaning and protecting composition to at least a portion of the hydrophilic overcoat; and drying the cleaning and protecting composition to provide a dried surface having a replenished hydrophilic surface. The writable and cleanable article includes: a base member having a front surface; a facing layer comprising a cured polymeric matrix and a plurality of inorganic nanoparticles dispersed in the polymeric matrix, wherein the facing layer is disposed on at least a portion of the base member front surface; an optional primer layer disposed on at least a portion of the facing layer; and a hydrophilic overcoat bonded to the facing layer and/or the optional primer layer through siloxane bonds, thereby providing a hydrophilic surface that is writable and cleanable. The cleaning and protecting composition includes: a hydrophilic silane; a surfactant; and water.
ERASABLE AND REUSABLE MARKING SURFACE
An erasable laminate for marking is disclosed. The laminate comprises a substrate with a marking surface, allowing a user to provide markings on the marking surface using the marking material. The marking surface comprises an outer layer containing a sulfonated block copolymer having an ion exchange capacity (IEC) of >0.5 meq/g. At least 50% of the markings can be erased from the marking surface with a wipe moist with a cleaning fluid (e.g., water, isopropyl alcohol, etc.) after wiping for less than 5 min. The laminate with erasable and reusable marking surface can be used for obtaining writing instruments, e.g., notebooks, artist easels, sketches, etc.
Reinforced powder coated writing board substrate system
A powder coated substrate system includes a base substrate with integrated structural support flanges having a powder coated front surface; a powder coating resin applied to the substrate to create a textured powder coated front surface, the textured surface having a roughness; the textured powder coated flanged substrate attached to a frame; the textured surface is suitable for receiving a writing device thereon.
WRITING BOARD SET AND PEEKING PREVENTION SYSTEM
A writing board set includes a writing board and a writing utensil containing ink. The writing board reflects back, when unpolarized light is incident on its surface at a viewer's side, polarized light which is parallel to a first direction and which has a degree of polarization of 95% or more. L.sub.d*, a.sub.d*, and b.sub.d* are values of L*, a*, and b* as obtained by irradiating the surface of the writing board with light that has been transmitted through a polarizing layer having a transmission axis which is orthogonal to the first direction, and measuring total reflectance through spectrophotometry. L.sub.i*, a.sub.i*, and b.sub.i* are values of L*, a*, and b* as obtained by irradiating the ink having been introduced onto a surface of a glass panel with unpolarized light, and measuring total reflectance through spectrophotometry. A color difference ΔE*.sub.ab as defined by eq. (1) is 19 or less:
ΔE*.sub.ab[(L.sub.i*−L.sub.d*).sup.2+(a.sub.i*−a.sub.d*).sup.2+(b.sub.i*−b.sub.d*).sup.2].sup.1/2 (1).
