The present disclosure provides a pencil sharpener for pencils having a lead surrounded by a lead carrier. The pencil sharpener includes a hollow guide channel for the pencil to be sharpened. An inner surface of the guide channel forms a guide surface for a partial area of a lead carrier of the pencil to be sharpened. To prevent contamination of an outer surface of the lead carrier the inner surface of the guide channel is interrupted by at least one cleaning groove extending in an axial direction of the guide channel.

The device is a carpenter speed square generally comprised of a flat triangular frame with one 90 degree angle and two 45 degree angles. The frame has a flange that protrudes outward from its top and bottom faces along one of the edges adjacent to the 90 degree angle. The device has an integrated means for sharpening pencils. With respect to the associated method, the user holds the device in their non-dominant hand with that hand wrapping around the flange with the right angle on the side adjacent to the thumb. Using their dominant hand and the integrated pencil sharpener the pencil is sharpened. Once sharpened, the pencil will be in the users dominate hand and the device will be in the uses non-dominate hand which is conducive to common layout and marking operations.

An electric pencil sharpener includes a motor configured to drive a cutter assembly for shaving a pencil, a cutter platform including a bracket configured to removably attach to the cutter assembly in a first direction, and a body cover shaped to cover the cutter platform, wherein the body cover includes an opening that opens toward the first direction and a pencil guide hole that opens toward a second direction. The opening is in communication with a receiving space of the bracket in which the cutter assembly is received, and wherein the cutter assembly is attachable to the bracket through the opening by a user, when the body cover covers the cutter platform.

A pencil sharpener is disclosed. The pencil sharpener comprises: a housing part which has an accommodation space thereinside with an open portion formed on one side thereof, and in which a first coupling member is formed on an inner side surface thereof; and a pencil sharpening part which is inserted into the accommodation space of the housing part, has a second coupling member corresponding to the first coupling member formed on an outer side surface thereof, and has a knife blade part thereinside, wherein a pencil, which is inserted into the pencil sharpening part, is sharpened by the knife blade part as at least one area of the pencil sharpening part is rotated by the first coupling member and the second coupling member as a pencil, which is inserted into the pencil sharpening part, makes a straight-line motion in the lengthwise direction of the housing part.
