Speed square with extension
A speed square is provided including a triangular flat plate having measurement markings indicated on at least one face, a T bar affixed to, and extending along, the length of a first side of the triangular flat plate, and an extension element hingedly connected to an end of second side of the triangular flat plate opposite the T bar. The extension element having measurement markings indicated on at least one face, such that the measurement markings of the triangular flat face continue on the extension element.
CARPENTER SQUARE
A carpenter square including a triangular plate and a base. The base has a corner at an intersection of a first side and first end. The corner extends into a pivot notch defined in a first side edge of the plate. During use, the base’s corner may be placed on a side wall of a workpiece and the plate is pivoted about a pivot axis extending along the base’s corner. An angular measurement may be marked on the workpiece’s surface when a selected angle on the plate aligns with an edge of the workpiece that extends along an intersection of the workpiece’s surface and side wall. First and second regions of the plate extend outwardly beyond opposite ends of the base. Each of the first and second regions includes a distance measurement scale and the first region further includes one or more angular measurement scales.
Speed Square with Extension

The extension element having measurement markings indicated on at least one face, such that the measurement markings of the triangular flat face continue on the extension element.
Carpenter speed square with pencil sharpener
The present invention relates to a device and a method associated with the device. The device is a carpenter speed square generally comprised of a flat triangular frame with one 90 degree angle and two 45 degree angles. The frame has a flange that protrudes outward from its top and bottom faces along one of the edges adjacent to the 90 degree angle. The device has an integrated means for sharpening pencils. With respect to the associated method, the user holds the device in their non-dominant hand with that hand wrapping around the flange with the right angle on the side adjacent to the thumb. Using their dominant hand and the integrated pencil sharpener the pencil is sharpened. Once sharpened, the pencil will be in the users dominate hand and the device will be in the uses non-dominate hand which is conducive to common layout and marking operations.
Dual speed square
A dual speed square has a first triangle member, a second triangle member, and an intermediate connector. The first triangle member and the second triangle member are each laterally and hingedly connected to the intermediate connector opposite each other through a first hinge joint and a second hinge joint, respectively. The triangle members rotate respective to the intermediate connector between a deployed configuration and a stored configuration. In the deployed configuration, the triangle members may be placed on opposite sides of a workpiece in order to identically mark out the opposite sides of the workpiece. In the stored configuration, the triangle members are positioned adjacent to each other, occupying a smaller space than in the deployed configuration for easier transport and storage.
Layout tool with grips
A layout tool is provided for use in marking a work piece to be cut. The layout tool includes a generally flat body having an even surface, a linear edge, locating indicia adjacent the linear edge, and a gripper attached to the flat body. The gripper is movable from an initial position. In the initial position, the gripper is generally aligned with the even surface of the flat body. The gripper can be moved toward the work piece from the initial position to engage the work piece when the flat body overlies the work piece.

BUILDER'S MEASURING AND MARKING TOOL
A measuring and marking tool includes a planar member having a first side edge and a second side edge extending normal to the first side edge, and a third side sedge intersecting the first side edge and the second side edge to form a hypotenuse of a right triangle configuration. A first aperture is space apart inwardly from the third side edge and has a first straight edge parallel to the third side edge and a second straight edge positioned to form an obtuse angle with respect to the first straight edge of the first aperture. A second aperture is spaced apart inwardly from the third side edge and has a first straight edge parallel to the third side edge, and second straight edge spaced apart from the first straight edge of the second aperture, the second straight edge parallel to the second side edge.
