Flat foil printing press having foil web and sheet guidance
The flat foil printing press comprises an evacuable back-pressure plate (9), with suction regions (15k) which run in the sheet running direction (X) and which are next to embossing regions (16k), in which foil webs (6k) run. The suction regions are subdivided into several suction segments (10i) which are successive in the sheet running direction, and are each connected to a vacuum source (14) by way of a vacuum feed line (12i) via a vacuum switching element (13i). With the running-out of an embossed sheet (5), firstly all suction segments (10i) covered by the sheet are evacuated, and subsequently the suction segments which are no longer covered by the sheet are successively disconnected from the vacuum source. This results in an error-free separation of foil webs and sheets, for a greater picture quality and machine output.
COIN OR MEDAL
In order to create a long-lasting memento for a musical performance for example, which also has a practical use, a coin or medal is designed with an embossed soundtrack. Furthermore, a method for embossing this coin or medal is proposed.

PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE PLATES
A production facility for manufacturing motor vehicle license plates includes a hot stamping machine configured for the continuous application of ink to stamped plates by hot stamping. At least one first conveying component is provided to transport stamped plates through the hot stamping machine. The production facility includes at least one transfer arrangement having a buffer with a cashing component for at least two flat objects wherein the production facility includes a control unit for controlling the buffer for a successive deposition of flat objects from the buffer onto the first conveying component. In particular, with such a buffer, stamped plates and/or templates can be deposited on the first conveying component. The disclosure also relates to a process for operating such a production facility.
DECORATION DEVICE AND DECORATION METHOD
A decoration device decorates a decoration subject by foil transfer and imprinting and includes a holding table holding the decoration subject, at least one grasping tool grasping a foil transfer tool and/or an imprinting tool at the same time or selectively, a conveyor moving one of the holding table and the at least one grasping tool with respect to the other, and a controller driving the at least one grasping tool and the conveyor. The controller defines or includes a foil transfer controller executing foil transfer control and an imprinting controller executing imprinting control before and/or after the foil transfer control by the foil transfer controller.
System and method of varying dwell time in a honeycomb plate press
A system and method of increasing a dwell time in a foil stamping press is provided. The dwell time is readily adjusted on the fly by the user for a given operating rate. A timer is used to adjust the press to stop on top dead center with changes in images per hour. An air clutch and an original equipment air brake are used in tandem to provide the desired dwell time. A pair of timers governs a pneumatic switch for control of the air clutch and the air brake. The present system and method increase die image area capacity as compared to conventional foil stamping presses. The increased dwell time press yields a flawless foil stamped image for an impression pressure less than that required in a conventional machine for a given die, mounted at a given height upon a stationary platen, and at a given temperature.

Foil stamping machine
A stamping machine is configured for stamping with a stamping head onto an article, The stamping machine includes a camera and a computer system. The computer system includes a display. The computer system is configured to capture from the camera an image of the article prior to the stamping and presents the image on the display. A user selects a symbol using the computer system prior to the stamping onto the article. The user using the computer system, positions the selected symbol as a displayed symbol superimposed on the image of the article.
