Non-cohesive designs for heat transfer sheets and methods for forming non-cohesive designs
The present invention provide a multi-layered heat transfer sheet comprising a plurality of distinct pieces forming one or more consecutive patterns that form shapes or objects having discontinuous peripheries, as well as a method for producing and/or making said item. The method for forming the heat transfer decorations includes ablating one or more layers of a heat transfer sheet using a defocused laser to define at least one plurality of discrete pieces that together define a heat transfer decoration. A single pass of the defocused laser may ablate the one or more layers of the heat transfer sheet so as to define the discrete pieces.
MULTILAYER FILM AND USE THEREOF AS A BARRIER EFFECT FOR TEXTILE APPLICATIONS
A thermo-adhesive multilayer film based on thermoplastic polyurethane includes a barrier layer having a material with anti-dye migration properties selected from: ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, polyamides, cellulose derivatives, polyvinylidene chloride and combinations. The barrier layer is interposed between two layers, each having a mixture of a thermoplastic polyurethane with a compatibilizing agent selected from: co-polymers modified with maleic anhydride, co-polymers modified with epoxy groups, co-polymers containing hydroxyl groups and combinations thereof. A decorative multilayer film includes the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and a further decorative layer, which provides an aesthetic effect. A process of co-extruding the layers obtains the thermo-adhesive multilayer film and the subsequent bonding thereof with the decorative layer obtains the decorative multilayer film. The decorative multilayer film decorates substrates in the field of textiles, clothing, footwear and accessories. A finished decorated article includes a substrate on which the decorative multilayer film is applied.
FOIL TRANSFER DEVICE
A foil transfer device which transfers foil onto a sheet is disclosed herein. When a nip/release mechanism moves a first roller and starts causing a foil film to be pressed against a confined surface region on a sheet, located apart from a leading edge of the sheet, a controller executes: a first process of causing a conveyor roller to start conveyance of the sheet, while the first roller is positioned in a separate position; a second process of causing the conveyor roller to stop conveyance of the sheet before a foil transfer area reaches a transfer position; a third process of causing the nip/release mechanism to start moving the first roller from the separate position to a nipping position while the conveyance of the sheet is stopped; and a fourth process of causing the conveyor roller to restart conveyance of the sheet before the first roller reaches the nipping position.
INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM, PRINTED MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED MATERIAL
An intermediate transfer medium according to the present disclosure includes a substrate and a transfer layer including at least a receiving layer, in which a logarithmic damping ratio ΔE determined by subjecting the receiving layer to rigid-body pendulum measurement at 70° C. is 0.10 or more.
Image Forming Apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a process unit, a heating unit, and a controller unit. The process unit is configured to transfer an image onto a sheet. The heating unit is configured to fix the image transferred at the process unit onto the sheet, and to transfer a transfer layer onto an image formed on a sheet overlaid on a multilayer film. The controller unit is capable of operating in a first printing mode in which processes of transferring an image at the process unit, fixing the image at the heating unit, and transferring the transfer layer at the heating unit are executed, and a second printing mode in which processes of transferring an image at the process unit and fixing the image at the heating unit are not executed, and a process of transferring the transfer layer at the heating unit is executed.
REFINED PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a refined product comprising a substrate having a pattern of a lacquer layer, and a hot stamping foil layer located on the lacquer layer, the lacquer layer having been obtained by inkjet printing from an aqueous lacquer composition comprising a binder composition comprising a polyacrylate and a polyurethane, at least one humectant, and water, the lacquer composition having a binder solids content of at least 20% by weight, preferably at least 30% by weight, based on the total weight of the lacquer composition. The present invention further relates to a process for producing said refined product.
METHOD FOR FORMING DYE SUBLIMATION IMAGES IN AND TEXTURING OF SOLID SUBSTRATES
An apparatus for texturing a plastic substrate, while forming a dye sublimation image in the plastic substrate, wherein the plastic substrate has a first side and a second side, is provided. A textured cover is on a side of a platen, wherein the platen is on a first, untextured side of the textured cover. A first side of the dye carrier is on a second, textured side of the textured cover, and wherein the plastic substrate is supported on a second side of the dye carrier, wherein a first side of the plastic substrate is supported by the dye carrier, wherein the textured side of the textured cover has a texture to be transferred to the plastic substrate. A membrane is on the second side of the plastic substrate. A vacuum pump provides a vacuum between the membrane and the platen. A heater is positioned to heat the plastic substrate.
Foil transfer device transferring foil from film
A foil transfer device includes a first projector projecting light toward a foil film, and a second projector projecting light toward the foil film. The second projector and the first projector are staggered relative to each other.
