Foil stamping apparatus
An apparatus for coating a part that has an asymmetrical edge. The apparatus includes a film dispenser, a film retriever, a mandrel; and a part holder. Preferably one or both of the mandrel and the part holder move in an angular relationship to one another, and the film dispenser and the film retriever move co-operatively in at least two dimensions with respect to the part holder. There is further provided a film having a first edge and a second edge, and the film can be a decorative coating, a protective coating or combinations of these. The film dispenser holds the first edge of the film, the film is positioned between the mandrel and the part holder and the film retriever holds the film second edge.

Transfer-type decorative sheet and method of manufacturing transfer-type decorative sheet
Provided are a transfer-type decorative sheet and a method of manufacturing a transfer-type decorative sheet, the transfer-type decorative sheet including a decorative layer that has excellent peelability from a temporary support and excellent glossiness in case of being seen from an oblique direction. The transfer-type decorative sheet includes: a temporary support; an underlayer that is peelable from and disposed on one surface of the temporary support; and a decorative layer that is disposed on the underlayer, in which the decorative layer includes at least one cholesteric liquid crystal layer, the underlayer is a layer that is formed of a composition including a monomer having one or two polymerizable groups, and a water contact angle of the underlayer is 50 or more.
RELEASE LINER FOR REPOSITIONABLE ADHESIVE ARTICLES
The present invention relates to a release liner, an adhesive article comprising the same, a process for producing the release liner, and a process for decorating an object using the adhesive article. According to an embodiment, the release liner comprises a carrier substrate (10), a thermoplastic polymer layer (20) applied on one side of the carrier substrate (10), and a release layer (30) applied on the thermoplastic polymer layer (20) on the side opposite to the carrier substrate (10). The thermoplastic polymer layer (20) and the release layer (30) include a network of ridges (25), which result in elevations of the surface of the release liner on the side of the release layer. The surface on the side of the release layer (30) has a roughness at least between the ridges (25), such that it has a plurality of pits (1, 2, 3). The average number of pits (1, 2, 3) per an area of 3.4 mm.sup.2 of the plan view of the release liner surface is at least 50 as determined with a confocal 3D laser scanning microscope at a magnification of 100. The pits (1, 2, 3) extend at least to a level of 10.0 m above the deepest point of the deepest pit (1) within said area of 3.4 mm.sup.2.

The present invention relates to a device and method for transferring an impression from a substrate to a surface comprising a surface coated with first layer of release agent; either a second layer of polyvinyl acetate; and a third layer of mixture of acrylamide and styrene acetate or a single layer of mixture of polyvinyl acetate, acrylamide and styrene acetate; and having the impression to be transferred thereon, and a method of making the aforesaid device and transferring an impression from a substrate to a surface.

An image transfer sheet includes a release paper, a glue layer, the glue layer having a lower surface removably glued to an upper surface of the release paper, a transfer film having a release property with respect to the image layer and an easy adhesion property with respect to the glue layer, and an image layer partially between the transfer film and the glue layer, a lower surface of the transfer film being in contact with the image layer at a portion where the image layer is present and in contact with the glue layer at a portion where the image layer is not present.
PRINTED MATTER WITH DECORATIONS
To solve the problem of requiring a number of fabrication steps for making a printed matter formed with protrusions and depressions and having its protruding portions decorated with metal foil. A printed matter according to the present invention includes: a sheet or base paper; a printed layer printed on a surface of the sheet or base paper with ink containing releasing agent; a graphic formed on a surface of the printed layer with ink or resin that adheres to the printed layer; and a metal foil applied only on a surface of the graphic via adhesive having a property of not adhering to the printed layer but adhering to the graphic formed of ink or resin.

The present abstract relates to a patent of invention for a visual message transmission device (1), pertaining to the field of application of the phenomenon of phosphorescence and to the field of self-adhesive articles, and it was designed in order to display messages such as promotional or ludic or decorative or technical ones or information signs, in the shape of the silhouette of any objects and/or texts; such device comprises: a light source (10), a transparent surface (20) traversed by light (11) generated by the light source (10), and by a layer (30) of phosphorescent and light-permeable pigment, applied to the transparent layer (20) that, when the light source (10) is on, is activated and traversed by the light (11) generated by the source, and when the light source (10) is off, the layer (30) emits phosphorescent light (12); such device having its preferential construction comprised of the phosphorescent layer (30) and for self-adhesive transparent article (40) on which the layer (30) is printed on and that is adhered to the transparent layer (20).
Temporary tattoo
An image transfer sheet for producing a temporary tattoo having a base release sheet upon which a tattoo image is formed. The tattoo image comprising an image layer composed of a permanent adhesive and a water soluble adhesive having one or more inks integrated therewith. Wherein, after the tattoo image has been applied to a user and then subjected to water, the water soluble adhesive breaks apart and the permanent adhesive no longer has the ability to bond thereby allowing the tattoo image to easily be removed from the user.
