METHOD FOR TEXTURIZING CAPSULES
Described herein are methods for texturizing metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpieces or capsules. A texturizing apparatus that includes a texturizing sector and a texturizing spindle tip is disclosed. The metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpieces or capsules are placed onto the texturizing spindle tip that includes a texture. A pressure is applied to the texturizing sector and the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule, and the texturizing spindle tip is rotated against the texturizing sector to impart an image of the texturizing spindle tip texture to the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule. The texturizing sector may include a smooth surface and a resilient material, and the texturizing spindle tip may include a textured surface and a non-resilient material. The texture of the metal, closed-end, cylindrical workpiece or capsule includes the imparted image of the texturizing spindle tip texture.

Method of forming a balanced disc with angled lip
In order to provide a balanced bent lip disc, the applicant routinely had issues with rippling at an outer circumference edge of the lip. Due to the geometries involved in a 3½ inch disc bent to provide an outer lip of ½ inch at 45 degrees, 0.1145 of excess circumference is created thereby providing a ripple effect. The applicant discovered that simultaneously embossing the lip while bending the lip could reduce this rippling effect (and the outer circumference at the edge) by at least 75 if not 90 or 95% of a non-embossed lip bent in the same manner.

Method and installation for manufacturing a floor covering product and floor covering product obtained hereby
A method for manufacturing a floor covering product includes the steps of forming a single- or multilayered substrate by extruding of synthetic material-based material in a layer shape; laminating at least one continuous film to the substrate; and impressing the at least one continuous film using a roller provided with a relief on its surface.

Component with Surface Structure Generated by Embossing and Method for the Production Thereof
The invention relates to a component having a plate-shaped or profile-shaped support and a decorative surface layer connected to the support, the surface layer being formed of thermally curable resin and comprising a three-dimensional surface structure that is produced by embossing and is irregular. According to the invention, in order to inexpensively obtain a decorative surface which has good wear resistance and largely prevents disturbing finger prints, the surface structure comprises regions that are alternately ordered and non-ordered and that are formed by a ribbed and/or grooved structure, ordered regions having parallel and/or quasi-parallel ribs and/or parallel and/or quasi-parallel grooves being interrupted by non-ordered regions or structural breaks, and the width of the respective rib or groove being in the range of from 0.5 μm to 100 μm. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a component of this type using a corresponding embossing tool is disclosed and claimed.

Coating apparatus with donor surface, application device, and surplus extraction system
An apparatus is disclosed for coating a surface that is movable relative to the apparatus with a layer of metallic particles or particles having a metal-like appearance and reflectivity, the particles adhering more strongly to the surface than to one another. The apparatus comprises at least one spray head for directly or indirectly applying to the surface a fluid stream within which the particles are suspended, a housing surrounding the spray head(s) and defining an interior plenum for confining the fluid stream, the housing having a rim adjacent the surface that is configured to prevent egress of particles from a sealing gap defined between the rim of the housing and the surface to be coated, and a suction source connected to the housing to extract from the plenum the sprayed fluid and particles suspended in the sprayed fluid. In operation, the suction source extracts substantially all particles that are not in direct contact with the surface, so as to leave only a substantially single particle layer adhering to the surface on exiting the apparatus.
