The base can further include a bearing seat which is configured to support a portion of the ball and permit the ball to simultaneously rotate about three axes. Embodiments can further include a cap having a retaining feature at a first end and a second locking feature at a second end. The cap can be configured to mate with the first locking feature of the base and form a locked connection with the base. The cap can retain the ball in a position between the retaining feature and the base, providing increased force onto the ball and securing the position of the ball and animal trophy relative to the base.

The method can include inserting a turkey beard into a body so that connective tissue of the turkey beard that is joined with a plurality of hairs passes by a plurality of arms projecting inward toward a longitudinal axis of the body such that the connective tissue passes by the plurality of arms to thereby enter an interior compartment. The arms can penetrate into and among the plurality of hairs to secure the turkey beard to the body.

The present invention is a taxidermy display apparatus (TDA) and method of use. The TDA provides for a simple and low cost means for displaying a taxidermy mount such as the skull of a deer or other animal, preferably by providing for the ready suspension of such taxidermy mount. The TDA comprises an eyebolt, a washer, a barrel nut, and an anchor. In practice, a user positions the anchor within the skull, places the washer on top of the skull, threads the eyebolt through the washer—the eyebolt passing through a natural or created hole in the skull—and threads the eyebolt through the anchor. With a taxidermy mount thus affixed to the TDA, TDA with a taxidermy mount affixed thereon is suspended from a holding structure via the eyelet of the eyebolt.

The present invention is a taxidermy display apparatus (TDA) and method of use. The TDA provides for a simple and low cost means for displaying a taxidermy mount such as the skull of a deer or other animal, preferably by providing for the ready suspension of such taxidermy mount. A display device for spreading a turkey's tail feathers in a fan-like display is provided. This device may be used as a mounting mechanism for wall display. A mounting mechanism may further be provided for the mounting of an object to the turkey fan such as the beard, or a pole for the use of the fan as a decoy in the field or a mount on the wall or shelf.
