VEHICLE WHEELS AND METHODS OF USE
20230017058 · 2023-01-19 ·

Vehicle wheels and methods of use are provided. The vehicle wheel comprises a first region, a second region, and a third region. The first region is generally annular and comprises a first flange, a second flange opposite the first flange, and a continuous wall comprising an inner surface and an outer surface. A first tire bead seat and a second tire bead seat are defined on the outer surface. The second region is configured to mount to a vehicle axle and is offset from the first flange by an offset distance. The third region connects the second region and the third region and extends inwardly towards the longitudinal axis from an attachment location on the first region to the second region. The third region comprises a first thickness and the second region comprises a second thickness. The first thickness is no greater than 75% of the second thickness.

Wheel rim with reduced-height rim flange

A rim (3) for a rolling assembly has a flexible extender, the rim having an axis of rotation DD′, said rim having a rim seat (31) extended axially towards the outside by a rim flange (32), said rim flange (32) having a first portion (321) that is oriented substantially in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation DD′ and situated radially on the outside with respect to said rim seat (31), said first portion (321) being extended radially and axially towards the outside by a connecting portion, characterized in that the radial height measured between the intersection point between the line of the rim seat and the line of the first portion, and the end of the radially outermost portion of the rim flange (32) is less than 10 mm.

Aerodynamic Bicycle Rim and Wheel

An aerodynamic bicycle rim comprising: a circumferential outer portion comprising a circumferential outer surface, the circumferential outer portion adapted to seat a bicycle tire; a nose; and a set of sidewalls, each sidewall extending radially from the nose of the aerodynamic bicycle rim to a corresponding transition to the circumferential outer surface to form a rim body having a maximum rim body width that is greater than a maximum width of the bicycle tire. The aerodynamic bicycle rim is operable to seat the bicycle tire so that the aerodynamic bicycle rim and the bicycle tire form an asymmetrical cross-sectional shape.

WHEEL-INTERNAL DOUBLE BEADLOCK SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF

An internal double beadlock system includes a centralized inner ring and one or more tire positioners. The one or more tire positioners are coupled to extend out from each side of the centralized inner ring. Each of the tire positioners has a length to detachably engage with a portion of an inner tire wall on each side of a tire positioned on a tire rim while being shorter than a width of the tire rim.

WHEEL RIM

A wheel rim includes a rim body, two flanges and two reinforcing structures. The rim body surrounds an axis and is made of carbon fiber composite material. The flanges protrude radially and outwardly from an outer peripheral surface of the rim body, spaced apart from each other along the axis, are made of carbon fiber composite material, and define respectively two spaces therein. The reinforcing structures are respectively received in the spaces, and each of the reinforcing structures includes a plurality of fiber bundles fixed in a respective one of the flanges. Each of the fiber bundles includes at least two strands of carbon fibers being twisted.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A ONE-PIECE WHEEL BY FORGING AND A ONE-PIECE WHEEL MANUFACTURED THEREBY

A method for manufacturing a one-piece wheel by forging includes: producing an integral forging comprising: a disc portion, a rim portion, and an annular protrusion protruding from one side of the disc portion in a forging method; producing an outer bend by bending the annular protrusion through a flow-forming process; and forming a hollow portion by welding one end of the outer bend to one side of the rim portion. The method manufactures the one-piece wheel having stronger shear strength and stiffness and better fatigue life even while reducing the noise using the forging method.

VEHICLE TYRE WITH ENHANCED BEAD CONTOUR

A pneumatic tyre comprises a tread portion, a pair of opposing sidewall portions and a pair of opposing bead portions, the tread portion extending radially outwards from the sidewall portions and the sidewall portions extending radially outwards from the bead portions, wherein each bead portion comprises an axially inward side and an axially outward side which are joined at a base of the bead portion and each axially outward side of the bead portion comprises a concave region extending axially inwards. Each concave region further comprises a convex region located within the concave region which extends axially outwards.
