VEHICLE WHEEL END ASSEMBLY AND A VEHICLE
A vehicle wheel end assembly comprising a wheel hub, rotatably mounted on a wheel axle spindle by a wheel bearing s comprising a roller bearing. The wheel bearing has a bearing inner ring mounted on an external section of the wheel axle spindle and a bearing outer ring mounted in an internal section of the wheel hub. The assembly further comprises a threaded hub nut mounted at the end of the wheel axle spindle to fix the bearing inner ring on the wheel axle spindle and a rotational lock mechanism to prevent relative rotation between the bearing inner ring and the wheel axle spindle. The rotational lock mechanism comprises a tangential surface arranged to intersect a part of an inner circumference of the bearing inner ring at right angles to the axis of rotation in a plane located at or adjacent an outer radial end surface of the bearing inner ring.
SUBASSEMBLY INCLUDING A WHEEL HUB AND A CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT
A subassembly includes a wheel hub and a constant velocity joint. The constant velocity joint includes a bell and the wheel hub is connected to the bell by high-pressure internal forming. Preferably, the wheel hub includes an axial projection disposed radially inside a connecting section of the bell, the projection interacting with the connecting section during the high-pressure internal forming process in order to connect the wheel hub to the bell. The projection is preferably configured to deform plastically and is connected to the bell in an interference-fit manner. Further, the wheel hub preferably provides an inner ring of a bearing unit and either the bell of the constant velocity joint provides another inner ring or a separate inner ring is disposed between the wheel hub and the bell.
SPINDLE SYSTEM FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT CORRECTION
A spindle sleeve and washer for adjusting the camber, toe, or thrust angle of a vehicle wheel to a desired predetermined angle which allows for use of existing hub and spindle assembly without permanent modification to the vehicle.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
A system for use in providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes a preload apparatus having a first extension and a second extension engageable with an inner race of the bearing and configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The first extension has a first projection and the second extension has a second projection. A stop ring is configured to limit a radially inward movement of the first extension and the second extension toward each other to position the first projection and the second projection relative to the bearing.
Hub unit having steering function, and vehicle provided with said hub unit
Provided is a turning function-equipped having a reduced size and having improved strength to an external shock force and improved reliability. The turning function-equipped hub unit includes: a hub unit main body; a unit support member; and a turning actuator. The unit support member is provided to a chassis frame component. The unit support member includes an abutment part with which a part of the hub unit main body is brought into abutment in a vertical direction during non-normal time, the abutment part being separated from the hub unit main body in the vertical direction during normal time, and the non-normal time in which the abutment is caused, is a time when an impact load equal to or greater than a predetermined value acts on the hub unit main body in the vertical direction due to an external force from the wheel.
WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR SECURING AT LEAST ONE ATTACHMENT MEANS IN SUCH A WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY
A wheel bearing assembly includes a bearing unit having first and second bearing rings mounted for relative rotation, the first bearing ring including a flange configured to connect the first bearing ring to a wheel rim, the flange including a plurality of threaded bores. A plurality of stud bolts each having a first portion, a second portion and an intermediate collar separating the first portion from the second portion are mounted in the bores such that the first portions are located in the bores and the first axial face of the intermediate collar abuts the flange. A second axial face and/or a radially outer portion of the intermediate collar includes at least one projection or groove configured to form an interference fit with another component.
DOUBLE ROW TAPERED BEARING WITH PRESS FIT PRELOADING ELEMENTS
A wheel bearing assembly with an outer race, a first roller bearing, a second roller bearing, a first shield, and a second shield. The outer race may have a first inner surface and a second inner surface. The first roller bearing and the second roller bearing may have a plurality of rollers configured to engage with the first inner surface and with the second inner surface, respectively. The first shield and the second shield may be configured to engage with the first roller bearing and the second roller bearing, respectively, and push the first roller bearing and the second roller bearing against the first inner surface and the second inner surface, respectively. The first shield and the second shield may each have a rubber seal configured to reduce passage of fluid into or out of the first roller bearing and the second roller bearing, respectively.
Flanged wheel hub bearing provided with a sensor
A wheel hub bearing for motor vehicles including a rotatable hub provided with a flange for the engagement of the hub to a wheel of a vehicle and provided with a radially outer free portion and a bearing unit provided with a radially outer ring for the engagement of the wheel hub bearing to a knuckle of the vehicle and a radially inner rotatable ring angularly connected to the hub. Furthermore, the wheel hub bearing has a device for detecting a vehicle parameter and provided with an encoder and a sensor in communication with the encoder. The encoder is ridgidly coupled to the radially outer free portion of the flange to jointly rotate with the hub.
