An adjustable axle retaining structure is disclosed. The structure includes an axle receiving feature on a first leg of a fork assembly and a retaining sleeve within a clamping member on a second leg of the fork assembly. An axle is inserted through the clamping member, the wheel hub and coupled with the axle receiving feature. A component of the axle is tightened thereby moving the retaining sleeve partially out of the clamping member and toward the wheel hub until the wheel hub is in contact with both the retaining sleeve and the axle receiving feature, wherein the moving of the retaining sleeve allows the axle to radially couple the wheel hub with the fork assembly without modifying a preestablished geometry of the fork assembly.

Wheel assembly, methods, and applications

A quick release mechanism for a wheel includes a hub and a clip, which interact with a wheel or roller that may or may not be part of the invention per se. The hub is disposable on a drive shaft such that it will rotate with the drive shaft. An optional hub cap is disposable on the wheel and has an opening that is complimentary to the geometry of the hub to allow engagement thereof such that the hub the hub cap rotate together. The clip is disposable on the hub in a closed or an open position so that the hub cap cannot or can be removed from the hub.

HUB

A hub for bicycles comprising a hub axle, a hub shell, a rotor, and a toothed disk freewheel including a pair of interacting freewheel components namely, a hub-side freewheel component and a rotor-side freewheel component. The freewheel components each comprise axial engagement components biased in the engagement position through a biasing device. The hub-side freewheel component is axially displaceably received in a threaded ring and non-rotatably coupled with the hub shell in the driving direction. The rotor-side freewheel component is non-rotatably provided at the rotor for transmitting rotational movement from the rotor to the hub shell in the engagement position of the two freewheel components. The threaded ring comprises a thread with a thread groove that extends along a helical line in an axial direction around a circumference of the threaded ring, where the helical line shows less than five full revolutions around the circumference of the threaded ring. The thread is screw-connected with a thread of the hub shell.

A hub for partially muscle-powered vehicles, including a hollow hub axle with a cylindrical inner through hole for the passage of a clamping axle, a hub shell rotatably supported relative to the hub axle by two hub bearings, a rotor rotatably supported relative to the hub axle, and a freewheel device with a hub-side freewheel component and a rotor-side freewheel component, each having axial engagement components for engagement with one another. The hub shell is rotatably supported relative to the hub axle in a rotor-side end region by a rotor-side hub bearing, and in an opposite end region of the hub shell by another hub bearing. The hub-side freewheel component is non-rotatably connected with the hub shell. The rotor-side freewheel component is non-rotatably connected with the rotor and is movable in the axial direction relative to the rotor and the hub shell between a freewheel position and an engagement position.

HUB ASSEMBLY FOR HUMAN-POWERED VEHICLE

A hub assembly is provided for a human-powered vehicle. The hub assembly includes a hub axle, a hub body, a pawl support body, at least one pawl, a sprocket support body, at least one sprocket support bearing, a ratchet body and a plurality of ratchet teeth. The hub body is rotatably mounted on the hub axle. The pawl support body is connected to the hub body. The pawl is movable between a driving position and a non-driving position. The at sprocket support bearing rotatably supports the sprocket support body on the hub axle. The ratchet body is connected to the sprocket support body. The ratchet teeth engage the pawl to transmit a driving force from the sprocket support body to the hub body while rotating in a driving rotational direction. The sprocket support bearing is disposed opposite to the hub body with respect to the ratchet teeth.
