DOUBLE WALL AXLES AND EXTENSION RODS FOR A LUNAR ROVER CHASSIS
A lunar rover chassis includes at least two wheels, a power supply, and at least one axle assembly coupled between the at least two wheels. The axle assembly includes an inner axle coupled with the at least two wheels, and an outer wall surrounding the inner axle. The inner axle is configured to rotate to drive rotation of the at least two wheels, the inner axle includes a first conductive surface, and the outer wall includes a second conductive surface. The power supply is electrically connected to the first conductive surface of the inner axle and the second conductive surface of the outer wall, and the power supply is configured to apply a voltage difference between the first conductive surface of the inner axle and the second conductive surface of the outer wall to attract or repel lunar regolith from the outer wall.
Devices and methods of thermal management for a motorized wheel
A method of thermal management for an electrically motorized wheel, the method can include defining a thermally conductive path from at least one component, the at least one component becoming heated during operation of the electrically motorized wheel, providing the path with a thermally conductive material and further defining the path such that the path contacts the at least one component, further defining the path such that the path contacts a hub shell assembly of the electrically motorized wheel thereby conducting heat from the at least one component to the hub shell assembly.
ADJUSTABLE WHEEL ALIGNMENT CAM
An apparatus for adjusting the toe and camber of a wheel including a spindle, a spindle sleeve, the spindle disposed inside the spindle sleeve, a spindle sleeve bolt, disposed through the spindle through hole and the spindle sleeve through hole, an alignment cam, including an eccentric cam through hole, a cam bolt head, a spindle cup, the eccentric cam through hole offset from an alignment cam constant center of the alignment cam, and a spindle bolt, securely connecting the alignment cam to the spindle. The alignment cam is connected to a first end of the spindle, with the alignment cam and the spindle disposed inside the spindle sleeve.
BEARING CASSETTE
A bearing cassette assembly may include a cassette securable to a chassis of a vehicle, and a cam securable within the cassette in one of a plurality of radial positions relative to the cassette, wherein the cam is configured to receive a first vehicle axle bearing assembly. When the cam is moved into one of a plurality of radial positions, the first vehicle axle bearing assembly is moved relative to a second vehicle axle bearing assembly of the vehicle.
