Non-pneumatic tire having a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer and a thermoplastic elastomer
A structurally supported non-pneumatic tyre comprises a tread, an annular band, a plurality of spokes extending transversely and radially inside the annular band, and means for connecting the plurality of spokes to a wheel, characterized in that the spokes comprise a polymeric composition based on at least one polymeric matrix comprising 50 to 70% of one or more thermoplastic polymers, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of which is within a range extending from 120 to 250° C. and 30 to 50% of one or more thermoplastic elastomers, said thermoplastic elastomer(s) being compatible with said thermoplastic polymer(s), such that the elongation at break of the mixture of these polymers is greater than or equal to the elongation at break of the thermoplastic polymer(s) alone.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING WHEEL ASSEMBLIES
A wheel assembly of a vehicle (e.g., a forklift or another material-handling vehicle) is monitored to obtain information regarding the vehicle, including information regarding the wheel assembly, which may be indicative of how the vehicle including the wheel assembly is used (e.g., a duty cycle of the vehicle and/or the wheel assembly), a state (e.g., a degree of wear) of the wheel assembly, loading and shocks on the wheel assembly, and/or a state of an environment (e.g., environmental temperature, a profile, compliance, or other condition of an underlying surface beneath the wheel assembly), and which may be, for example, conveyed to a user (e.g., an operator of the vehicle), transmitted to a remote party (e.g., a provider), and/or used to control the vehicle (e.g., a speed of the vehicle). This may improve use, maintenance, safety and/or other aspects of the vehicle, including the wheel assembly.
AIRLESS TIRE
A one-piece tire has an elastomer material composition that is homogeneous and consistent throughout the entire tire. An annular outer portion of the one-piece tire includes an outwardly facing surface that defines an outer circumference of the tire and a width of the tire between a first edge on a first lateral side and second edge on a second lateral side of the tire. An annular inner portion defines an inner circumference of the tire. The annular inner portion has a first edge on the first lateral side of the tire and a second edge on the second lateral side of the tire. An annular resilient spring portion extends from a first junction near the first edge of the annular inner portion to a second junction near the second edge of the annular outer portion.
Annular ring and non-pneumatic tire
The present invention provides an annular beam of monolithic construction of one homogeneous material and a related efficient, low-cost non-pneumatic tire. Specific geometric design, combined with nonlinear elastomer physical properties, enable the suppression of all reinforcing belts, continuous fibers, or other strengthening layers in the annular beam. The annular beam consists of at least two bands that are continuous in the circumferential direction and connected by a web geometry. The non-pneumatic tire consists of the annular beam, a ground contacting portion, a central wheel, and a plurality of web spokes that connect the wheel and beam. When the tire is loaded to a design load against a flat surface over a design contact length, a contact area of essentially uniform pressure is produced, while the load is transmitted from the beam to the hub via tension in the web spokes. The tire can be economically manufactured.
Non-pneumatic tire
In a non-pneumatic tire, an outer ring comprises a laminate having a plurality of fiber layers, and at least one elastomer layer interposed between an adjacent pair of a plurality of fiber layers, the plurality of fiber layers include an outermost layer which among the plurality of fibers is that which is arranged in outwardmost fashion in a tire radial direction, and an innermost layer which among the plurality of fibers is that which is arranged in inwardmost fashion in the tire radial direction, and at least one of the outermost layer and the innermost layer contains a first fiber array at which fibrous material is arrayed so as to extend in the long direction of a joint.
NON-PNEUMATIC TIRE AND RIM ASSEMBLY
A non-pneumatic tire and wheel assembly which includes a rim, and a spoke ring structure having an inner ring that is mounted on an outer surface of the rim. The inner ring has one or more retention nubs aligned for reception in complementary shaped grooves on the outer surface of the rim, wherein the spoke ring structure has a plurality of spoke members, and an outer tread ring is mounted on the outer circumference of the spoke ring.
COMPOSITE PDU TIRE IN AN AIRCRAFT CARGO HANDLING SYSTEM
A composite PDU tire in an aircraft cargo handling system may comprise a plurality of bonded regions configured to propel cargo within an aircraft cargo bay. The composite tire may include edge regions that are stiffer than a cylindrical region. The edge regions may be configured to have a greater wear resistance and abrasion resistance relative to the cylindrical region. The cylindrical region may be configured to have greater traction relative to the edge regions. The edge regions may include a fillet profile and may be configured to reduce chipping as cargo climbs across the tire.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOLDING NON-PNEUMATIC WHEELS
A method and apparatus for molding non-pneumatic wheels is provided. The exemplary method and apparatus allow for the use of the same molding system to manufacture wheels with different hub constructions. Different configurations of removable mold elements are utilized within the same molding system to provide wheels with different hub constructions.
TIRE WITH CONCAVE SIDEWALLS
A tire having a central axis and a radius further includes a circumferential tread having a convex cross-section. The convex cross-section is defined by a radius that is less than a maximum radius of the tire. A pair of sidewalls extends from opposite sides of the circumferential tread. Each of the pair of sidewalls has a concave cross-section that is defined by a radius that is greater than a maximum radius of the convex cross-section of the circumferential tread.
ROLANT FARM ELEMENT
An agricultural implement comprises a wheel body with a peripheral groove, a tire with a bead projecting radially inward, and a radial lock which locks the tire around the wheel body. The bead is shaped so as to be housed in the groove when the tire is mounted around the wheel body. The radial lock comprises a first aperture formed in the wheel body, opening into the groove on the one hand and onto a main face of the wheel body on the other hand, at least a second aperture formed in the bead of the tire, opening substantially facing the first aperture, and a pin placed in the first aperture and the second aperture.
