A tire state monitoring system includes: tire state acquisition devices installed on tires of a host vehicle, each of the tire state acquisition devices being configured to acquire a tire state quantity; a monitoring device configured to receive an output signal from each of the tire state acquisition devices and perform predetermined processing; and an alerting device configured to issue an alert to a following vehicle. In addition, the monitoring device causes the alerting device to operate when a predetermined abnormality has arisen in the tire state quantity.

The method includes the steps: a) capturing whether at least one tire sensor module for measuring tire states and/or sensor states is present in a monitoring region; b) determining whether the captured tire sensor module is unknown; c) evaluating data messages from the at least one captured and unknown tire sensor module, the evaluation including at least comparing at least one tire state transmitted via the data message with a limit value therefor and/or monitoring a sensor state of the tire sensor module transmitted via the data message; and, d) outputting a warning signal if a tire state exceeds or undershoots the respective limit value in order to indicate that a tire state of a tire assigned to the at least one unknown tire sensor module is critical and/or if a critical sensor state is detected.
Tire valve registration system
A tire valve registration system including: a plurality of tire valves that are respectively installed on a plurality of tires and on a spare tire and that each transmit a radio signal that includes a valve ID and data on tire air pressure; and a receiver that is provided to a vehicle body and that is capable of receiving the radio signal from each of the plurality of tire valves. The system includes: a spare tire ID collecting unit that collects, as at least one spare tire candidate ID, the valve ID of at least one radio signal received by the receiver; and a spare tire ID confirming unit that confirms the ID of the spare tire.

A method is for monitoring tire states and/or sensor states. TIRE AIR PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE-MOUNTED RADIO DEVICE
An tire air pressure monitoring system is provided configured to reduce the information amount of signals transmitted and received by a vehicle-mounted radio device and a vehicle-mounted communication device, and prevent a processing delay and a improve reliability of air pressure information. The tire air pressure monitoring system includes an air pressure acquisition unit that acquires the air pressure of a tire, a vehicle-mounted radio device wirelessly transmits a signal regarding the air pressure acquired by the air pressure acquisition unit, and a vehicle-mounted communication device in a separate location from the vehicle-mounted radio device and receives the signal transmitted by the vehicle-mounted radio device. The vehicle-mounted radio device includes a calculation unit calculating a temporal change amount of the air pressure acquired by the air pressure acquisition unit, and a transmission unit that transmits a signal indicating the air pressure change amount calculated by the calculation unit.
TIRE VALVE REGISTRATION SYSTEM
A tire valve registration system including: a plurality of tire valves that are respectively installed on a plurality of tires and on a spare tire and that each transmit a radio signal that includes a valve ID and data on tire air pressure; and a receiver that is provided to a vehicle body and that is capable of receiving the radio signal from each of the plurality of tire valves. The system includes: a spare tire ID collecting unit that collects, as at least one spare tire candidate ID, the valve ID of at least one radio signal received by the receiver; and a spare tire ID confirming unit that confirms the ID of the spare tire.
