Tyre-removal apparatus comprising a base having a support for receiving and rotating the wheel. A frame having an upright with a longitudinal axis substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the wheel is joined to the base of the tyre-removal apparatus. A support arm is associated with the upright and is movable in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. A tool for operating on the wheel is mounted on the support arm. An actuator is able to move the support arm along the direction substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. At least one sensor, able to detect at least one parameter representing contact between the tool and the wheel, is associated with said actuator. Said at least one sensor is operationally connected to a control unit able to control the actuator and/or at least one further actuator, associated with the support arm, so as to move the tool along a trajectory determined by the control unit, depending on the at least one parameter representing the contact between the tool and the wheel.

A tyre dismounting apparatus adapted to be installed on a motor vehicle comprises: a base configured to be fixed to the motor vehicle; a frame, hinged to the base and tiltable about a tilting axis between a rest position and a working position; a tilting actuator connected to the base and to the frame to move the frame relative to the base; a wheel-holder unit configured to receive a wheel and lock it in place and rotating about an axis of rotation to drive the wheel in rotation about the axis of rotation; a longitudinal actuator connected to the frame and configured to move the wheel-holder unit along a longitudinal axis having at least one component in a vertical direction, parallel to the direction of the weight force; a working unit connected to the frame and including a rod and a tool connected to the rod. The tyre dismounting apparatus comprises a transverse actuator connected to the working unit to move it translationally relative to the wheel-holder unit along a transverse axis parallel to the tilting axis of the frame.

A tire removal apparatus has a base with a support for rotating a wheel. A frame having an upright with a longitudinal axis substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the wheel is joined to the base. A support arm associated with the upright is movable by an actuator in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. A tool for operating on the wheel is mounted on the support arm. A sensor for detecting a parameter representing contact between the tool and the wheel is associated with the actuator, and is operationally connected to a control unit to control the actuator and/or another actuator associated with the support arm to move the tool along a trajectory determined by the control unit depending on the parameter representing contact between the tool and the wheel.

A tyre dismounting apparatus adapted to be installed on a motor vehicle comprises: a base configured to be fixed to the motor vehicle; a frame, hinged to the base and tiltable about a tilting axis between a rest position and a working position; a tilting actuator connected to the base and to the frame to move the frame relative to the base; a wheel-holder unit configured to receive a wheel and lock it in place and rotating about an axis of rotation to drive the wheel in rotation about the axis of rotation; a longitudinal actuator connected to the frame and configured to move the wheel-holder unit along a longitudinal axis having at least one component in a vertical direction, parallel to the direction of the weight force; a working unit connected to the frame and including a rod and a tool connected to the rod. The tyre dismounting apparatus comprises a transverse actuator connected to the working unit to move it translationally relative to the wheel-holder unit along a transverse axis parallel to the tilting axis of the frame.

A mount and demount head configured as a housing affixed to a shaft of an OEM tire machine with a semicircular shaped shaft affixed to the housing. The shaft has a bulbous protrusion on a bottom end of the shaft with specific tapers. The shaft and the bulbous end have a flattened portion for following the contour of the rim. On the upper side of the bulbous end is the narrow semicircular shaft with a tapered top end, tapered to a widened shaft, which is affixed to the housing. A non-metallic insert is preferably inserted into a void in the flattened portion of the narrow semicircular shaft and bulbous end to protect the rim surface. Clamp adapters are used to clamp and hold small wheel assemblies whereby the clamp adapters are inserted over the OEM clamps to extend the clamp capability of the OEM tire machine.
