Vehicle Twist Axle Assembly
The twist axle assembly includes a twist beam which is made of a single integral piece, extends along a length between opposite ends and the twist beam has an open cross-sectional shape between the ends. The twist beam is stamped into a U-shape with a middle section that extends in a first direction between a pair of trailing arm sections. The trailing arm sections extend at least partially in a second direction that is generally transverse to the first direction to reduce twisting stresses within the trailing arm portions during operation of the twist axle assembly.
Removable spindle assembly for torsion axles
A torsion axle arrangement is provided wherein the spindle is mounted to the suspension link by insertion into a split socket at one end of the suspension link, which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the suspension link. That connection is maintained by a bolt passing through the suspension link, engaging a mating groove in the spindle, and then clamping the ends of the split socket together. The bolt is anchored to the suspension link by a threaded connection external to the suspension link. A chamfer or surface recess is formed in the surface of the suspension link for immediate source identification.
Assembly for a hydraulically suspended vehicle axle
An assembly for a hydraulically suspended vehicle axle may have a central housing, and at least two hydraulic suspension components supported on the central housing and fluidly connected to one another by a fluid line extending at least partially through the central housing.
Axle system having an axle lift kit and method of assembly
An axle system and a method of assembly. The axle system may include an axle lift kit. The axle lift kit may have a first bracket subassembly that may be fastened to the hanger bracket and a second bracket subassembly that may be fastened to first and second lateral sides of the trailing arm.
REAR AXLE FOR A TWO-TRACK VEHICLE AND TWO-TRACK VEHICLE WITH A REAR AXLE
A rear axle for a two-track vehicle includes a first trailing arm, a first wheel carrier with a first wheel center and a first longitudinal strut, which form a first coupling mechanism that is effective in a longitudinal and/or a vertical direction of the vehicle. A second trailing arm and a second wheel carrier with a second wheel center and a second longitudinal strut form a second coupling mechanism that is effective in a longitudinal and/or a vertical direction of the vehicle, and a crossmember is firmly connected to the first trailing arm and to the second trailing arm and has a shear center. The first coupling mechanism has a first instantaneous center of rotation located on the front side and above the first wheel center, and the second coupling mechanism has a second instantaneous center of rotation located on the front side and above the second wheel center. A two-track vehicle having a chassis or an underbody includes such a rear axle arranged on the chassis or on the underbody.
TRAILING ARM FOR OFF-ROAD VEHICLE REAR SUSPENSIONS
An apparatus and methods are provided for a trailing arm for a rear suspension of an off-road vehicle. The trailing arm comprises an axle support that has a cylindrical shape for supporting roller bearings whereby a wheel hub is rotatable relative to the trailing arm. A joined control arm extends forward of the axle support to an outboard control arm and an inboard control arm. The outboard and inboard control arms are configured to hingedly couple to a chassis of the vehicle. An outboard chassis mount and an inboard chassis mount operate as pivots that place the trailing arm into a hinged relationship with the chassis. The tailing arm is configured to be interchangeable between a driver side and a passenger side of the off-road vehicle. Bulkheads are arranged within an interior chamber of the tailing arm and configured to impart structural integrity to the tailing arm.
SUSPENSION BUSHING AND SUSPENSION DEVICE
Provided are a suspension bushing and a suspension device with which maneuvering stability can be improved without adversely affecting ride quality. Protrusions are formed on the outer circumferential surface of an inner tube, and slits are formed on the inner circumferential surface of an outer tube. The protrusions are arranged in the slits and have a tapered shape in which their width in a direction parallel to an axial line decreases as the distance from the axial line increases. The slits have a shape such that a gap in the direction parallel to the axial line decreases as the distance from the axial line increases.
Coupled torsion beam axle apparatus of vehicle
A coupled torsion beam axle apparatus of a vehicle includes: a left torsion bar and a right torsion bar arranged in an internal space of the torsion beam so to be separated from each other in a horizontal direction of a torsion beam. Torsion stiffness of the torsion beam is tuned by replacing the left torsion bar and the right torsion bar, and particularly, warping stiffness is tuned by changing a position where the left torsion bar is coupled to the torsion beam and a position where the right torsion bar is coupled to the torsion beam.
