Leveling system for lift device
A leveling system for a lift device includes a control system. The control system has programmed instructions to acquire operation data regarding operation of the lift device, fluidly couple a first leveling actuator and a second leveling actuator based on the operation data, acquire an update regarding the operation data, fluidly decouple the first leveling actuator and the second leveling actuator based on the update regarding the operation data, and selectively control the first leveling actuator and the second leveling actuator to (i) selectively reposition a first tractive element and a second tractive element relative to each other about a longitudinal axis defined by the lift device and (ii) selectively reposition the first tractive element and the second tractive element about a first lateral axis defined by the lift device.
Vehicle and method of controlling vehicle suspension
A vehicle includes a first actuator, one or more second actuators, and an electronic control unit. The first actuator is configured to control a stroke of a suspension for a control target wheel. The one or more second actuators is configured to control the stroke of the suspension and more responsive than the first actuator. The electronic control unit is configured to: execute a calculation process to calculate a required control amount for at least one of roll control and pitch control of the vehicle; and execute a command process to distribute and command the required control amount to the first actuator and the one or more second actuators.
Situation-based vehicle configuration
Particular embodiments may enable configuring settings of a vehicle in a designated mode. A signal to place the vehicle in a designated mode may be received. A roll angle and a pitch angle of the vehicle as parked may be assessed based on data received from a position sensor built into the vehicle. Signals to adjust an electronically controlled suspension of the vehicle to reduce the roll angle or the pitch angle so that the vehicle is level as parked may be sent based on the assessed roll angle and pitch angle exceeding a threshold value. One or more settings of the vehicle to change default operating characteristics by the vehicle while in the designated mode may be modified.
Method and system for estimating vehicle body tilt
Vehicle body tilt, representing a difference between a vehicle body frame of reference and a wheel-base frame of reference, is determined by obtaining information from sensor assemblies for the vehicle body and for the wheel-base. Navigational solutions are generated for the sensor assemblies using motion sensor data from the assemblies and absolute navigational information. Correspondingly, vehicle body tilt is determined based at least in part on the vehicle body navigation solution and the wheel-base navigation solution.
Pitch and roll control system for a vehicle
A vehicle includes a suspension system having a first damper, a second damper, and a controller. The dampers include housings and pistons sealingly interfaced with an inner diameter of the housing, dividing the damper into a first and second chamber. The suspension system includes proportional variable relief valves which control pressure of fluid entering or exiting one of the first and second chamber of one of the first and second damper. The controller controls the valves to control extension or compression of the first damper and extension or compression of the second damper based on a degree of roll of the vehicle during a turn of the vehicle or a degree of pitch of the vehicle during acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle. The first and second damper control a roll and pitch of the vehicle. The valves control a damping rate of one of the first and second damper.
METHOD TO CONTROL THE ACTIVE SHOCK ABSORBERS OF A ROAD VEHICLE FEATURING THE LOWERING OF THE CENTRE OF GRAVITY
Method to control active shock absorbers of a road vehicle. Each active shock absorber is part of a suspension connecting a frame to a hub of a wheel and is provided with an actuator. The control method comprises the steps of: determining a longitudinal acceleration and a transverse acceleration of the road vehicle; establishing a desired lowering of a centre of gravity of the road vehicle depending on the longitudinal acceleration and on the transverse acceleration; and controlling the actuator of each active shock absorber so as to obtain the desired lowering of the centre of gravity.
METHOD TO CONTROL THE ACTIVE SHOCK ABSORBERS OF A ROAD VEHICLE FEATURING THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE ROLL ANGLE AND OF THE PITCH ANGLE
Method to control active shock absorbers of a road vehicle. Each active shock absorber is part of a suspension connecting a frame to a hub of a wheel and is provided with an actuator. The control method comprises the steps of: determining a longitudinal acceleration and a transverse acceleration of the road vehicle; establishing a desired roll angle based on the transverse acceleration; and establishing a desired pitch angle based on the longitudinal acceleration.
LOAD DETECTION DEVICE
Disclosed is a load detection device and method using the same. In one example, the device includes a height-level measuring unit configured to determine a height level of a vehicle and to generate at least one height-level signal that characterizes the height level. A position-measuring unit is configured to determine the position of the vehicle relative to the mid-point of the earth and to generate at least one position signal that characterizes the vehicle position. An evaluation unit is coupled to the height-level measuring unit and to the position-measuring unit. The evaluation unit is configured to determine a mass of a load of the vehicle, taking into account the height-level signal(s) and the position signal(s). The device can be used to determine the mass of the load, which may include a number of persons.
Adjustable suspension mount assembly
An adjustable suspension mount assembly includes a bracket coupled to a suspension mounting component and coupled to a frame component of the vehicle. The assembly also includes a vertical adjustment assembly operatively coupled to the bracket. The assembly further includes an electric motor operatively coupled to the vertical adjustment assembly to adjust the vertical position of the bracket.
Electronically controlled external damper reservoir
An electronically controller external damper reservoir assembly (eRESI) can be connected to a passive damper and/or substituted for an existing external reservoir to provide semi-active damping control. The eRESI includes a reservoir and a variable base valve assembly actuated by an actuator. A controller is in communication with the actuator and a sensor providing input signal indicative of vehicle movement and is programmed to generate a damping control signal to the actuator based on the input signal, to dynamically control the damping force outputted by a passive damper hydraulically connected to the eRESI. A P/T sensor can be installed to a gas chamber of a vehicle damper to generate a P/T signal indicative of the pressure and temperature of the gas. The controller is programmed to determine a damper position of the damper based on the P/T signal.
