Apparatus for and method of estimating vehicle weight by using vehicle height adjusting device
An apparatus for estimating vehicle weight using a vehicle height adjusting device is provided. The apparatus includes a vehicle height adjusting device that raises or lowers four positions of front left (FL) and right (FR) sides and rear left (RL) and right (RR) sides of a vehicle body, respectively. A vehicle height controller operates the vehicle height adjusting device to raise or lower the FL and FR sides and the RL and RR sides of the vehicle body. A weight estimating unit measures time required for raising or lowering the vehicle body or operating speed of the vehicle body and calculates an expected vehicle weight value by comparing the time required or the operating speed with a preset reference data.
AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL
Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle suspension system. In some example methods, a height change request is received for a vehicle suspension having a displacement control for implementing height change requests. A displacement of at least one spring of the vehicle suspension may be determined, as well as whether the displacement satisfies a displacement control criteria. The height of the vehicle suspension may be changed using an air mass control in response to determining the displacement control criteria is not satisfied.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE
A vehicle control device includes: an acquiring unit that acquires vehicle height information from a link mechanism type vehicle height sensor that is connected to a lower arm of a suspension that connects a vehicle body and wheels of a vehicle; a storage unit that stores vehicle height error information, which is information representing a relationship between an acting force that is applied to the vehicle in a horizontal direction and an error that is contained in the vehicle height information that is output by the vehicle height sensor; and a correcting unit that corrects the vehicle height information that has been acquired by the acquiring unit, based on the acting force that acts when the vehicle height information is acquired and the vehicle height error information that is stored in the storage unit.
Leveling system for lift device
A leveling system for a lift device includes a control system. The control system has programmed instructions to acquire operation data regarding operation of the lift device, fluidly couple a first leveling actuator and a second leveling actuator based on the operation data, acquire an update regarding the operation data, fluidly decouple the first leveling actuator and the second leveling actuator based on the update regarding the operation data, and selectively control the first leveling actuator and the second leveling actuator to (i) selectively reposition a first tractive element and a second tractive element relative to each other about a longitudinal axis defined by the lift device and (ii) selectively reposition the first tractive element and the second tractive element about a first lateral axis defined by the lift device.
Vehicle height adjusting apparatus
A vehicle height adjusting apparatus according to one aspect includes: a vehicle height adjusting member that adjusts height of a seat of a saddle-type vehicle, using hydraulic pressure; an oil supplying portion that supplies oil to the vehicle height adjusting member, using a motor; and a control section that estimates a load applied to the vehicle height adjusting member, from a current supplied to the motor and a stroke correspondence quantity of the vehicle height adjusting member, and controls the oil supplying portion based on the load to adjust the height of the seat.
Load Sensor System with Improved Assembly Connection
A load sensor having a centrally disposed aperture element through which a fastening element of a vehicle air suspension assembly passes to affix the load sensor between the vehicle air suspension assembly and the vehicle suspension, wherein the load sensor has a force measurement sensor disposed proximate an elongate slot to generate a load signal which varies based on an amount of strain in the load sensor, wherein the load signal received by a load calculator allows calculation of the load exerted from the vehicle frame to the vehicle suspension.
Method and device for determining an axle load on a suspended vehicle
In a method for determining an axle load on a mechanically and/or pneumatically/hydraulically suspended vehicle, the axle load is determined with the aid of control and sensor means that are installed in the vehicle and/or functionally enhanced. Functions for axle load determination at mechanically suspended vehicle axles (4) and for axle load determination at pneumatically/hydraulically suspended vehicle axles (2) are available. In a mechanically suspended vehicle axle (4) a distance measuring unit (9), and in a pneumatically/hydraulically suspended vehicle axle (2) a pressure measuring unit (7) are used to determine the axle load. An initial plausibility check is implemented in an electronic control unit (10) of the level control system (1), on the basis of which the level control system (1) identifies the particular suspension type, mechanical or pneumatic/hydraulic, of a vehicle axle (2, 4) and, thereafter, the appropriate function for axle load determination is activated.
HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATION OF SAID SYSTEM
Methods and systems for hydraulic vehicle suspension are provided. A hydraulic suspension system, in one example, includes a first manifold including a piston-side interface and a rod-side interface fluidically coupled to a piston chamber and a rod chamber, respectively, for each of a first hydraulic cylinder and a second hydraulic cylinder. In the system, the first manifold includes a first electrically activated valve fluidically coupled to the piston-side interfaces, a first damping device, and a second damping device, the first electrically activated valve is configured to lock and unlock vertical motion of the first and second hydraulic cylinders and, while vertical motion of the first and second hydraulic cylinders is locked, the first electrically activated valve permits fluidic communication between the first and second hydraulic cylinders to permit free roll motion in the hydraulic suspension system.
Load-based tire inflation system for heavy-duty vehicles
A load-based tire inflation system for a heavy-duty vehicle comprises at least one source of fluid pressure, suspension structure of the heavy-duty vehicle, a tire and wheel assembly and a system to control fluid pressure in the tire and wheel assembly. The suspension structure is located between a frame member and an axle and has a condition indicative of a weight of the heavy-duty vehicle. The tire and wheel assembly is operatively mounted to the axle and is in fluid communication with the source of fluid pressure. The control system controls fluid pressure in the tire and wheel assembly in response to the condition of the suspension structure.
