Method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer
A method for operating an adjustable roll stabilizer for a motor vehicle. The adjustable roll stabilizer has an actuator which relative to a rotational axis can be rotated through a system angle in order to twist two stabilizer sections connected to it about the rotational axis relative to one another. The stabilizer sections are each coupled to a respective wheel suspension at a radial distance away from the rotational axis, and, starting from a target angle to be set at the actuator and having regard to the actual system angle and other parameters of the adjustable roll stabilizer and/or the motor vehicle equipped with it, a position-rotational speed regulator determines a target motor torque on the basis of which a motor of the actuator is controlled, so that having regard to the target angle and the actual system angle, the target motor torque is checked for plausibility.
Method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer
A method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer (1) of a motor vehicle. The adjustable roll stabilizer (1) has an actuator (2) which can be rotated through a system angle (α) relative to a rotational axis (3) in order to twist two stabilizer sections (6a, 6b), connected thereto, relative to one another. The stabilizer sections (6a, 6b) are each a radial spaced away from the rotational axis (3) and each is coupled to a wheel suspension (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b). The method includes controlling the actuator with a field-orientated regulator (20) as a function of input signals which include at least a target motor torque (21), and checking the control of the actuator (2), brought about by the field-orientated regulator (20), for plausibility independently of the field-orientated regulator (20).
Electromechanical actuator
An electromechanical chassis actuator, for example an actuator of a roll stabilizer, for a motor vehicle has a torque measuring arrangement based on the inverse magnetostrictive principle. At least one electronic unit has a printed circuit board which is connected at least indirectly to an actuator housing through a rivet connection.
ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK
An anti-roll bar link for a vehicle suspension may be positioned between an anti-roll bar and an articulating arm. The link selectively transfers movement of the arm to the anti-roll bar, depending on a locked or unlocked state. The link includes a body interfacing a slidable shaft. A physical feature selectively locks or unlocks the slidable shaft with respect to the body. The physical feature may include a locking pin, interference with a locking ball, etc. In the locked state, translation of the slidable shaft is restricted, and movement of the arm is transferred through the link to the bar. In the unlocked state, translation of the slidable shaft is permitted, and movement of the arm causes the shaft to translate with respect to the body such that at least a portion of the movement is not transferred to the bar.
Method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer
A method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer for a motor vehicle. The stabilizer has an actuator which can be rotated through a system angle about a rotational axis to apply a system torque and rotate two stabilizer sections relative to one another about the axis. The stabilizer sections are coupled at a radial distance from the axis to a respective wheel suspension, and depending on the system angle and under the external influence of movements of the wheel suspensions, twist relative to one another through a stabilizer angle. In the context of a perturbation magnitude regulation, the actuator is controlled based on the stabilizer angle determined from height levels of the wheels, by virtue of a stored relationship for the roll stabilizer and/or motor vehicle. The plausibility of the stored relationship between the wheel height levels and the stabilizer angle is checked by a model calculation.
Electronic control system for a motor vehicle
The present invention relates to an electronic control system for a motor vehicle, including a control device, an actuator, and at least one sensor. The control system according to the invention is characterized in that it has a sensor board for reading the data detected by the sensor, wherein the sensor board has a memory for storing actuator-specific data and an interface between the sensor board and the control device for transferring the data stored in the sensor board to the control device. The present invention also relates to a method for operating this type of control system.
Ride performance optimization in an active suspension system
An active vehicle suspension system includes an active damping mechanism operatively coupled to a vehicle wheel and configured for controlling a damping force applied to the wheel responsive to a control signal. A controller is operatively coupled to the damping mechanism and configured for generating a control signal to the damping mechanism responsive to velocity of the wheel in a downward vertical direction. At least one of a timer threshold and velocity threshold, used to determine whether a vehicle wheel has encountered a depression in a road surface, may be varied on a basis of a speed of the vehicle. A damping mechanism for a rear wheel of a vehicle may be controlled on a basis of how a damping mechanism for a front wheel is controlled.
ACTIVE ROLL STABILIZER
An active roll stabilizer includes a divided torsion bar (1) having torsion bar parts (2, 3) which are arranged one behind the other along a torsion bar axis. An actuator (4) for transmitting torsional torques to the torsion bar (1) is provided. An electric motor (7) and a transmission (6) connected to the electric motor (7) are arranged in an actuator housing (5). The actuator housing (5) is connected to the one torsion bar part (2) for conjoint rotation and the transmission (6) is connected, on the output side, to the other torsion bar part (3) for conjoint rotation. A motor housing (11) of the electric motor (7) is connected, by means of only one of the two axial ends of said motor housing, to the actuator housing (5) for conjoint rotation.
