Joint, link for a wheel suspension and method for assembling a joint

A joint (10) with first and second joint components (12, 26; 19) are movably connected to one another. The first joint component (12, 26) has a spherical joint body (14, 28) and the second joint component (19) rotatably and pivotably holds the joint body (14, 28). A sensor device, for determining the position of the first and second joint components (12, 26; 19) relative to one another, is arranged on the joint (10). The sensor device has at least one sensor element (21, 31) which can be integrated in a housing (18) that is produced by an assembly overmolding process. The joint housing (18) forms the second joint component (19) in which the joint body (14, 28) is directly supported.

A mechanical bypass for a shock assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly has a damper chamber having a compression portion and a rebound portion. There is further an external reservoir in fluid communication with the rebound portion of the damper chamber via a flow path. A valve is coupled with the flow path, the valve to meter a flow of the working fluid through the flow path. A bypass port to the external reservoir is provided in the flow path and bypasses the valve. A mechanical relief valve is provided in the bypass port to block a fluid flow though the bypass port until a blow-off pressure that is higher than a normal operating pressure and less than a burst pressure of the damping chamber is provided thereon.

Chassis component for a wheel suspension and method for producing a chassis component

A chassis component for a wheel suspension which has a strut arrangement with at least one strut which is in the form of a profile component with an open cross-section. The at least one strut has a profile base and two wall sections that extend away from the profile base. An articulation point is provided, at least at one end of the strut, for receiving two joint components movably connected to one another, namely, a first joint component having a spherical joint body and a second joint component that rotatably and/or pivotably holds the joint body. In the area of the at least one articulation point, the wall sections have first and second joint accommodation apertures arranged opposite one another. A cylindrical sleeve is pressed in between the first joint accommodation aperture and the second joint accommodation aperture and keeps the opposite wall sections apart from one another.

Vehicle suspension system

A vehicle suspension system comprising a hydropneumatic strut comprising a fluid interface, where supply of hydraulic fluid to the strut via the fluid interface causes the overall length of the strut to increase, and withdrawal of hydraulic fluid via the fluid interface causes the overall length of the strut to decrease, a first displacement system in fluid communication with the fluid interface, capable of supplying and withdrawing fluid to and from the strut as well as measuring the volume of fluid supplied or withdrawn from the strut, a second displacement system in fluid communication with the fluid interface, and a hydraulic fluid source for selectively supplying or withdrawing hydraulic fluid from the hydropneumatic strut via either of the first or second displacement systems.

Electromechanical actuator

An electromechanical chassis actuator, for example an actuator of a roll stabilizer, for a motor vehicle has a torque measuring arrangement based on the inverse magnetostrictive principle. At least one electronic unit has a printed circuit board which is connected at least indirectly to an actuator housing through a rivet connection.

A shock absorber for a vehicle suspension system may include a damper tube defining an axis, a rod operably coupled to the damper tube to be movable along the axis relative to the damper tube in response to jounce and rebound events, a dust boot operably coupled to the rod and extending along peripheral sides of the rod and at least a proximal end of the damper tube relative to the rod, the dust boot being movable with the rod, a target disposed on a damper bump cap operably coupled to the proximal end of the damper tube, and a measurement assembly affixed to the dust boot. The measurement assembly may include a PCB elongated parallel to the axis to track relative movement between the target and the measurement assembly responsive to the jounce and rebound events to generate ride height information based on the relative movement.
