In some examples, the controller is configured to detect a suspension operating condition of the vehicle, and to change a setting associated with the suspension system based on the suspension operating condition. An example method comprises detecting, using a controller, a suspension operating condition of a suspension system of a vehicle. The method may further include changing, using the controller, a setting associated with the suspension system based upon the suspension operating condition.

The microcontroller is configured to output the response message to the vehicle network via the DID connector.

Method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer

A method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer (1) of a motor vehicle. The adjustable roll stabilizer (1) has an actuator (2) which can be rotated through a system angle (α) relative to a rotational axis (3) in order to twist two stabilizer sections (6a, 6b), connected thereto, relative to one another. The stabilizer sections (6a, 6b) are each a radial spaced away from the rotational axis (3) and each is coupled to a wheel suspension (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b). The method includes controlling the actuator with a field-orientated regulator (20) as a function of input signals which include at least a target motor torque (21), and checking the control of the actuator (2), brought about by the field-orientated regulator (20), for plausibility independently of the field-orientated regulator (20).

A method of operating an adjustable roll stabilizer (1) of a motor vehicle. The adjustable roll stabilizer (1) includes an actuator (2) which can rotate relative to a rotational axis (3) in order to twist two stabilizer sections (6a, 6b) connected thereto relative to one another about the rotational axis (3). The stabilizer sections (6a, 6b) are radially spaced away from the rotational axis (3) and each is coupled to a wheel suspension (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b). The actuator (2) is controlled on the basis of a system target torque specified for the vehicle, and the specified system target torque is tested for acceptability in relation to a roll torque distribution (β) that is acceptable for the motor vehicle.

An electronic suspension control apparatus of the invention is an apparatus that controls an electronic suspension having an electric motor, and under a predetermined operation condition, gradually decreases a thrust force command for the electronic suspension and performs short circuit control on the electric motor once the thrust force command falls to or below a predetermined value. The operation condition is either detection of a command giving a prior notice of stopping power supply to the electronic suspension, a short circuit command as a measure against a collision, detection of a predetermined decelerating vehicle speed, or detection, by a preview sensor, of a change in a road surface which is equal to or above a predetermined value.

Techniques for using ball joint sensor data to determine conditions relevant to a vehicle are described in this disclosure. For example, in one example, the ball joint sensor data may be used to determine estimated steering data. The estimated steering data may be directly used to navigate through an environment, such as by the vehicle relying on the estimated steering data when planning, tracking, or executing a driving maneuver. Also, the estimated steering data may be used to verify the reliability of other steering sensor data used to navigate through the environment.
