Device having a measuring apparatus for measuring forces and/or loads
A component of a machine. The component has a measuring fixture for measuring forces and at least one metallic, magnetic portion. The measuring fixture includes at least one field-generating member for producing an electromagnetic alternating field and at least one detection member for detecting changes of the magnetic field produced. The field-generating member and the detection members are arranged on the metallic, magnetic portion and are designed to interact with the metallic, magnetic portion in such manner that by way of the measuring fixture, as a function of measurement signals from the detection member, forces acting on and/or deformations of the component can be detected.
SHOCK ABSORBER WITH A BEARING HOUSING BYPASS ASSEMBLY
A shock assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a damper chamber having an outer wall with a first inner diameter (ID). A secondary chamber within the damper chamber, the secondary chamber comprising an exterior wall with an external diameter (ED) less than the ID of the outer wall to form an annular region therebetween. A damping piston coupled to a piston rod, the damping piston disposed in the secondary chamber and axially movable relative to the secondary chamber, the damping piston to bifurcate the secondary chamber into a compression side and a rebound side. A valve to control a flow of a working fluid between the annular region and the secondary chamber.
Inertial suspension magnetic stabilizer
Inertial suspension magnetic stabilizer that complements the suspension of vehicles and mobiles of different nature, opposing and compensating inertially to sudden impulses; mountable to wheel cups or to the wheel axis support, preferably constructed in a body preferably forming a hollow cylinder containing gaseous or liquid fluids, composed of a hermetic tubular body provided at its ends with fixed magnets and in its central area of a magnetically neutral sliding piston, supported by its magnet ends with equal polarity, facing, to that of the magnets fixed at the ends of the tubular body; sliding piston that in turn divides the tubular body into two hermetic chambers linked together, by a tube provided with a fluid regulating valve.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING A FLUID DAMPER
A spring for a suspension is described. The spring includes: a spring chamber divided into at least a primary portion and a secondary portion, and a fluid flow path coupled with and between the primary portion and the secondary portion. The fluid flow path includes a bypass mechanism, wherein the bypass mechanism is configured for automatically providing resistance within the fluid flow path in response to a compressed condition of the suspension.
SUSPENSION WITH HYDRAULIC PRELOAD ADJUST
A shock absorber for a vehicle having a damper and a first and second springs mounted coaxially around the damper and a preload adjuster for partially compressing at least one of the springs independently of the compression stroke. In one embodiment the preload adjuster is remotely controllable. In another embodiment the shock absorber includes an additional mechanism for preloading at least one of the springs.
Distance measurement sensor based on magnetic signal triangulation
The subject invention reveals a distance measuring device comprising: a sensing module, a target module, and an evaluating module, wherein the sensing module and the target module are mountable so as to execute a movement with respect to each other along a movement trajectory, wherein the target module comprises a magnetic field generating element having a magnetic pole axis, wherein the sensing module comprises a first magnetic field sensing array being arranged distant to the movement trajectory. The sensing module and the target module can advantageously be situated within the pressurizable chamber of an air spring which is defined by (contained within) a first mounting plate, a second mounting plate, and a flexible member of the air spring.
LINEAR MACHINE
Disclosed are various embodiments for a linear machine having a magnetic torque tunnel stator comprising an outer core assembly formed of a plurality of exterior permanent magnets couple to the inside retaining wall of a tube, where adjacent exterior permanent magnets are separated by an exterior ring spacer of ferromagnetic material, and an interior core assembly having a plurality of interior permanent magnets coupled to the outside wall of a central core, where adjacent interior permanent magnets are separated by an interior ring spacer of ferromagnetic material, the magnetic poles of the exterior and interior permanent magnets configured to face each other, and a coil winding assembly armature configured to be slidably positioned within the magnetic torque tunnel of the stator.
Active suspension system with electropermanent magnets
A stability control system that detects a change in a vehicle operating characteristic and sends a stabilizing command to an actuator system based on identifying the change is described. The actuator system applies a first magnetic field having a predetermined strength to an electropermanent magnet for a predetermined duration based on receiving the stabilizing command. The first magnetic field transitions the electropermanent magnet from a first state to a second state. The electropermanent magnet generates a second magnetic field in the second state. The second magnetic field modifies at least one of a spring constant or a mechanical resistance of a suspension component within a suspension system of the vehicle, and the electropermanent magnet retains the second state after the predetermined duration in absence of the first magnetic field.
