Adjusting vehicle ride height based on predicted collision
A vehicle may receive sensor data captured by a sensor of the vehicle, determine that the sensor data represents an object in the environment, and determine an impact location between the vehicle and the object. The impact location may be associated with a predicted collision between the vehicle and the object. The vehicle may also determine an object type corresponding to the object and/or a characteristic of the object. Based at least in part on the impact location, object type, and/or the characteristic, a ride height of the vehicle may be adjusted.
Apparatus for and method of estimating vehicle weight by using vehicle height adjusting device
An apparatus for estimating vehicle weight using a vehicle height adjusting device is provided. The apparatus includes a vehicle height adjusting device that raises or lowers four positions of front left (FL) and right (FR) sides and rear left (RL) and right (RR) sides of a vehicle body, respectively. A vehicle height controller operates the vehicle height adjusting device to raise or lower the FL and FR sides and the RL and RR sides of the vehicle body. A weight estimating unit measures time required for raising or lowering the vehicle body or operating speed of the vehicle body and calculates an expected vehicle weight value by comparing the time required or the operating speed with a preset reference data.
GAS SPRING AND DAMPER ASSEMBLIES AS WELL AS SUSPENSION SYSTEMS INCLUDING SAME
End members are supportable along a damper housing and dimensioned for securement to flexible spring member. End members include a wall with a side wall portion including an inner side surface portion. First projections extend toward a first inner edge with a first shoulder surface portion faces a second end. Second projections extend inward beyond the inner side surface portion toward a second inner edge with a second shoulder surface portion facing a first end. Second projections are spaced axially from first projections such that a groove is formed inward of the inner side surface portion between first and second shoulder surface portions. End member assemblies including such an end member as well as gas spring and damper assemblies and suspension systems are also included.
AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL
Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle suspension system. In some example methods, a height change request is received for a vehicle suspension having a displacement control for implementing height change requests. A displacement of at least one spring of the vehicle suspension may be determined, as well as whether the displacement satisfies a displacement control criteria. The height of the vehicle suspension may be changed using an air mass control in response to determining the displacement control criteria is not satisfied.
Apparatus and method for adjusting height of vehicle
An apparatus for adjusting a height of a vehicle including a vehicle height adjustment unit configured to adjust a height of the vehicle; a hydraulic pressure supply unit configured to supply a hydraulic pressure supplied to a caliper from a braking device for braking of the vehicle to the vehicle height adjustment unit; and a control unit configured to control a hydraulic pressure supplied to the vehicle height adjustment unit from the braking device, by controlling the hydraulic pressure supply unit depending on whether a predetermined vehicle height adjustment condition is satisfied.
Actuator with reinforcing structure for torsion resistance
A suspension actuator includes a first housing part, a second housing part, a ball screw actuator that is connected to the first housing part and to the second housing part, and an air spring membrane that is connected to the first housing part and to the second housing part. The air spring membrane includes a flexible material and a reinforcing structure that is disposed within the flexible material to resist torsion loads that are applied to the second housing part by the ball screw actuator.
A SPRING DEVICE FOR A WHEEL SUSPENSION FOR A VEHICLE
A spring device (100) for a wheel suspension (200) for a vehicle (300) is described. The spring device (100) comprises an elongated elastic torsion device (102) configured to rotate about a central longitudinal axis (R) at a load (L). The torsion device (102) comprises elongated elastic elements (130) that comprise an internal cavity (132).
System and method for determining whether to adjust the ride height of a vehicle
The present invention relates to a system for determining whether to inhibit lowering of the ride height of a vehicle when the vehicle speed exceeds a speed threshold value. The system includes a processor having an input configured to receive ride attribute data from at least one on-board vehicle ride attribute sensor, the ride attribute data being indicative of the roughness of the surface over which the vehicle is travelling, and a data memory configured to store at least one predetermined ride attribute threshold value for the or each ride attribute sensor. The processor is configured to calculate a ride attribute parameter in dependence on the received ride attribute data for the or each ride attribute sensor. The processor is also configured to compare the or each calculated ride attribute parameter with the corresponding at least one predetermined ride attribute threshold value to determine whether the vehicle is travelling on a smooth surface or a rough surface, and to inhibit lowering of the ride height when it is determined that the vehicle is travelling on a rough surface.
Suspension system with comfort valve integration
A suspension system including four dampers is disclosed where each damper includes a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. A first hydraulic circuit includes a front hydraulic line, a rear hydraulic line, and a first longitudinal hydraulic line that extends between and fluidly connects the front and rear hydraulic lines of the first hydraulic circuit. A second hydraulic circuit includes a front hydraulic line, a rear hydraulic line, and a second longitudinal hydraulic line that extends between and fluidly connects the front and rear hydraulic lines of the second hydraulic circuit. First and second longitudinal comfort valves are positioned in the first and second longitudinal hydraulic lines, respectively, between the front and rear hydraulic lines. Both of the first and second longitudinal comfort valves are electromechanical valves and can be actuated to couple and decouple front axle roll control from rear axle roll control.
