CARGO DEVICE
A cargo device, cargo management system and method of managing cargo are provided. A cargo device includes a platform having a top side configured to support cargo thereon; a cassette attached to the platform, the cassette configured to engage with at least one corresponding rail in a surface, and electrically communicate with the at least one corresponding rail to receive power and/or data related to the cargo from a controller to actuate the wheels, the cassette, or both; and wheels attached to the platform, the cassette, or both, the wheels being configured to move the platform along the surface. One or both of the cassette and the wheels are retractable based on the data such that the cassettes are moved between an engaged position with the corresponding rail and a disengaged position with the corresponding rail.
Methods and systems for preserving autonomous operation of a transport climate control system
A method for preserving autonomous operation of a transport climate control system is provided. The method includes the controller determining whether a regulatory compliance at a current location is restricting and/or preventing the use of a prime mover for powering the transport climate control system while a transport unit is in transit. When the controller determines that use of the prime mover is not being restricted or prevented because of a regulatory compliance, the method includes operating the transport climate control system and the transport power system in an energy harvesting operation mode for storing excess power generated by the prime mover into the auxiliary energy storage. When the controller determines that use of the prime mover is being restricted or prevented because of a regulatory compliance, the method includes the controller instructing the auxiliary energy storage to provide power to the transport climate control system.
Temperature regulation for autonomous vehicle delivery
Systems and methods are provided for temperature regulation in an autonomous vehicle. In particular, systems and methods are provided for regulating the interior temperature of a delivery container in an autonomous vehicle. In various implementations, the delivery container includes one or more compartments, and a thermal management system is provided for regulating the temperature of each of the compartments.
Closed loop feedback control and diagnostics of a transport climate control system
A closed loop feedback control and diagnostics system for a transport climate control system is provided. The closed loop feedback control and diagnostics system includes a plurality of source current sensors configured to monitor current received from a high voltage three-phase AC power source. The closed loop feedback control and diagnostics system also includes a plurality of compressor current sensors configured to monitor current drawn by an electrically powered compressor of the transport climate control system. The closed loop feedback control and diagnostics system also includes a controller configured to receive source current signals from each of the plurality of source current sensors, configured to receive compressor current signals from each of the plurality of compressor current sensors, and configured to control operation of the transport climate control system based on the received source current signals and the received compressor current signals.
Isolated evaporator coil for a transport climate control system
Technologies described herein are directed to isolating or insulating at least portions of an evaporator coil within a climate control unit (CCU) of a TCCS so as to reduce or even eliminate adverse effects caused by a leaked working fluid. Such adverse effects may include a threat of ignition, asphyxiation of occupants, damage to cargo, and other harmful effects caused by emission of a noxious gas. A leak isolation structure is provided to isolate evaporator tubes of an evaporator coil from at least one of a plurality of turns of the evaporator coil.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM OF GOODS DELIVERY VEHICLE
A temperature control system of a vehicle of delivering goods includes a first loading compartment located in the vehicle, a second loading compartment located separately from the first loading compartment, a temperature regulation unit connected in fluid communication with the first loading compartment and the second loading compartment such that a fluid may flow therebetween, a first air discharge door located in the first loading compartment, a second air discharge door located in the second loading compartment, and a controller configured to control operation of the temperature regulation unit in response to setting of temperatures of the first loading compartment and the second loading compartment, and to control opening and closing of the first air discharge door and the second air discharge door.
Trailer transport refrigeration unit assisted by a tractor auxiliary power unit
A tractor trailer system includes a tractor and a trailer. The tractor includes a hotel device and an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) configured to provide electrical power to the hotel device. The trailer is connected to the tractor, and includes a Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) having a TRU controller, an electrical TRU component, and a TRU Power Unit. The TRU controller is configured to utilize the APU to provide electrical power to the electrical TRU component during low TRU load conditions, and utilize the TRU Power Unit during high TRU load conditions.
Fabrication Methods, Structures, and Uses for Passive Radiative Cooling
Passive radiative cooling structures and apparatus manufactured with such cooling structures conserve energy needs. A flexible film transparent to visible light incorporates particles at a volume percentage larger than 25% so as to absorb and emit infrared radiation at wavelengths where Earth's atmosphere is transparent. Another film transparent to visible light is thin and flexible and configured to absorb and emit infrared radiation at wavelengths where Earth's atmosphere is transparent, wherein etchings or depositions are present on one or both surfaces. A high efficiency cooling structure has an emissive layer sandwiched between a waveguide layer and a thermal conductive layer. A solar cell panel is covered by a transparent passive radiative cooling film. A container housing an active cooling unit incorporates passive radiative cooling structures on one or more exterior surfaces.
Transport refrigeration system
A transport refrigeration system (26) includes a transport refrigeration unit (44), an energy storage device (46), a supply refrigerant tube (108), a return refrigerant tube (110) and at least one electrical pathway (98). The transport refrigeration unit is adapted to cool a container. The energy storage device is adapted to provide electrical energy for operating the transport refrigeration unit. The supply refrigerant tube flows a refrigerant from the transport refrigeration unit to the energy storage device, and the return refrigerant tube flows the refrigerant from the energy storage device back to the transport refrigeration unit to cool the battery in the energy storage device (46). The electrical pathway extends between the transport refrigeration unit and the energy storage device, and supplies at least electrical energy to the transport refrigeration unit.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER REGENERATION USING AIR FROM VEHICLE COMPRESSED AIR
Systems and methods for diesel particulate filter regeneration for a transport climate control system are provided. The diesel particulate filter regeneration system for the transport climate control system includes a prime mover having an ON state and an OFF state, a diesel particulate filter (DPF) disposed downstream from the prime mover, an airflow control device upstream from the DPF, an air source configured to provide air to the DPF via the airflow control device, and a controller. The air source is configured to supply air to air components of a vehicle. When the prime mover is in the OFF state, the controller is configured to control the airflow control device to supply air from the air source to the DPF for diesel particulate filter regeneration.
