ICE CHEST AIRCONDITIONER FOR COOLING A PET OCCUPIED MOTOR VEHICLE
An ice chest air conditioner for cooling a pet in a stationary motor vehicle is provided. The air conditioner has an insulated ice chest reservoir. The reservoir contains a volume of ice. An insulated lid is a hollow double walled construction defining an interior cooling plenum and a separate exhaust duct. The cooling plenum has an air intake vent, and a cooled air exhaust vent, and a heat exchanger and fan assembly. A fan is operable to drawn in through the air intake vent, past the heat exchanger, and outwardly into an interior of the reservoir through the cooled air exhaust vent. Conditioned air from the reservoir is delivered into an interior of the motor vehicle through the air exhaust duct A fluid pump recirculates a volume of melting ice water through the heat exchanger. A snorkel is connected to the air exhaust duct for directing the conditioned air into an interior portion of the motor vehicle. A monitor and control is in operable power and control communication with the pump and fan assembly. A telemetry system includes a remotely controllable device with an application for control and display of system parameters.
Method for extending duration of use of refrigerant and improving cooling efficiency using microcomputer circuitry and logic
A method comprises the steps of using microcomputer circuitry and logic generating data format providing activation and deactivation of a portable air cooling unit and operating the blower fan at differing speeds optimizing and conserving the rate of expending pre-cooled refrigerant. First, deactivating the unit during periods when cooling is unnecessary. Using sensors, including proximity sensors, for sensing the data format of individuals. The logic upon detecting an individual within the predefined range generates data format activating the chilled air output and deactivating the unit upon not sensing objects. The data format associated with the objects, dimensional aspect of range and operations of the portable air cooling unit are stored in the memory. Additionally, the active coupling of the temperature sensors operates the fan at lower speeds when the outside temperature is within the cooler temperature setting spectrum. Alternatively, switches are provided for operating the portable air cooling units.
ELECTRIFIED VEHICLE WITH DUAL-USE STORAGE/COOLING COMPARTMENT
An electrified vehicle includes a storage compartment positioned forward of a vehicle passenger cabin and accessible by opening a vehicle hood, a thermally conductive plate or heat exchanger in contact with a bottom surface of the storage compartment and having an associated conduit configured for circulating a working fluid from a vehicle cooling system, and a valve operable to control flow of the working fluid through the conduit. The storage compartment may be filled with a cooling medium, such as ice or dry ice, to provide enhanced cooling during high-demand operation or charging of the vehicle, such as when operating in a performance/track mode, towing a trailer, or in other extreme use scenarios. The valve may be controlled so that the working fluid bypasses the conduit when the storage compartment is used for cargo and/or enhanced cooling is not desired.
Cooling System for Storing and Cooling Products During Transport on a Refrigerated Transport Vehicle
A cooling system using carbon dioxide as a coolant comprises a cooling chamber for storing products to be cooled during transport and a cooling unit for cooling the atmosphere in the cooling chamber. The cooling chamber and the cooling unit are mounted on or integrated in a cooling vehicle like a truck, a railway wagon or a ship. The cooling unit comprises a carbon dioxide storage compartment and at least one cooling channel through which air is led from and to the cooling chamber. The carbon dioxide storage compartment and the cooling channel are separated from each other by a thermal well-conducting but gas-tight plate serving as a heat exchanger between the carbon dioxide in the carbon dioxide storage compartment and the air in the cooling channel.
Portable Air Conditioning Device
A portable air conditioning device. The portable air conditioning device has a housing which defines a hollow interior cavity and a primary compartment. The primary compartment can store ice or other cold materials. A pump is in fluid communication with the primary compartment and pulls water that forms from the melting ice out of the primary compartment into a hollow tubing. A fan blows air across a portion of the hollow tubing and a vent enables the air to pass to a space exterior to the housing. A power source is operably connected to the fan and the pump. The portable air conditioning device can provide cool air to a user by blowing air across the tubing and through a vent, thereby providing a cooling breeze to a user, while keeping food, beverages, and similar items stored within the primary compartment at a cold temperature.
