Air management system for climate control unit of a transport climate control system
Technologies are provided for preventing a working fluid leak from pooling and thus diluting any leaked working fluid from air within a condenser and/or evaporator compartment of the CCU. This can include a computer-readable medium that stores executable instructions that, upon execution, prevent a working fluid leak from pooling within a climate-control unit (CCU) of a transport climate control system. This also includes detecting fulfillment of activation threshold conditions in connection with the CCU. Also, this includes activating a fan in at least one of a condenser unit and an evaporator unit included in the CCU to dilute leaked working fluid from air within the CCU. Further, this includes detecting fulfillment of de-activation threshold conditions and de-activation of an activated fan.
Systems and methods for controlling a vehicle HVAC system
Disclosed are climate systems for vehicles and methods for controlling the climate systems. In some implementations, a climate system includes: (1) a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature within the compartment of the vehicle; (2) a first compressor powered by an engine of the vehicle to compress a refrigerant; (3) a second compressor driven by an electric motor to compress the refrigerant; and (4) a controller electrically coupled to the first compressor and the second compressor. The controller configured to: (1) calculate a thermal load of the compartment based on a difference between a desired temperature and a measured temperature; and, (2) based on the calculated load, selectively activate: (i) the engine, (ii) the first compressor, and/or (iii) the second compressor.
Parking Cooler
A parking cooler which is capable of battery powered operation during engine off operation. The parking cooler or air conditioning system may vary in cooling capacities to maximize cooling or maximize battery life. The parking cooler includes one or more condensers and a housing to accommodate such variation of cooling capacity.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A thermal management system control method for a vehicle, may include: (A) a process in which a controller determines whether a pre-cooling mode is selected according to data detected from a data detector before track driving of the vehicle, and operates an air conditioner; (B) a process in which the controller, when the process (A) is completed, operates a battery chiller expansion valve to cool a battery module according to the data detected from the data detector; and (C) a process in which the controller, when the process (B) is completed, determines whether the evaporator is frozen and then thaws the evaporator or controls an evaporator expansion valve, and terminates the control.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DEFROSTING A TRANSPORT CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM EVAPORATOR
A transport climate control system for providing climate control to a climate controlled space of a transport unit. The transport climate control circuit includes a compressor, an evaporator and at least two fans. The transport climate control circuit also includes a controller for controlling the transport climate control circuit and for defrosting the evaporator coil. When a defrost event is triggered, the controller instructs the transport climate control circuit to supply heat to or around one section of the evaporator coil, and independently controls each of the at least two fans to move the air around the evaporator coil in a controlled direction so that heat from the one section of the evaporator coil is used to convectively heat the inlet of the evaporator coil.
Transportation refrigeration system
A transportation refrigeration unit (TRU) system is provided and includes a damper assembly configured to direct air flows through first or second pathways and an evaporator disposed in the first pathway, a coil element surrounded by phase change material (PCM) and disposed in the second pathway and a routing assembly configured to direct refrigerant through the evaporator or the coil element. With the PCM pre-cooled, the damper and routing assemblies are controllable to respectively direct the air flows through the first pathway and the refrigerant through the evaporator when first conditions are met and to respectively direct the air flows through the second pathway when second conditions are met.
Air conditioning system with coolant pressure management
An air conditioning system for a vehicle, having an evaporator configured for a heat exchange between a coolant and air, a fan configured to generate an air flow passing through the evaporator and intended to be fed into a vehicle passenger compartment, at least one pressure sensor configured to measure the pressure of the coolant, and a control unit to adjust the rotation speed of the fan, configured to automatically decrease the rotation speed of the fan when the detected pressure of the coolant rises above a pressure threshold, so as to reduce the air flow on the evaporator and thus reduce the pressure of the coolant is provided.
Air conditioning system for vehicle
An air conditioning system for a vehicle may include a refrigerant line through which a refrigerant circulates and an evaporator and a condenser are connected to each other; and a first core and a second core for indoor air conditioning, wherein the first core includes a first inlet and a first outlet through which a coolant passing through the evaporator is introduced and discharged, respectively, the second core includes a second inlet and a second outlet through which a coolant passing through the condenser is introduced and discharged, respectively, and the first core and the second core are connected to each other through a connection line, and the connection line is provided with a first valve selectively connecting the first core and the second core through the connection line.
