The vehicle door structure includes: a door outer panel including a projected section that projects outward in a vehicle width direction, a recessed section that is separated from the projected section and recessed inward in the vehicle width direction, and a boundary section between the projected section and the recessed section; and a panel reinforcement fixed to an inner surface in the vehicle width direction of the door outer panel. The panel reinforcement includes: a first frame section that extends in a vehicle front-rear direction; and a second frame section at a position that overlaps the boundary section in the vehicle side view and is configured to be able to transmit a load to the first frame section at the time when the load in an inward direction of the vehicle width direction is applied to the boundary section.

A vehicle door includes a belt structure and a rigid handle having a rigid base and a rigid outer grip portion. The rigid outer grip portion includes a portion that is spaced apart from the base to form a gap. The vehicle door may include a powered door opening mechanism that moves a portion of the door away from a vehicle body when actuated.

Vehicle door assembly

A vehicle door assembly includes a door structure, an interior latch handle a panel and an interference member. The interior latch handle is installed to an inboard area of an inner door panel of the door structure. The interior latch handle has a housing and a release lever supported to the housing for pivotal movement. The panel is fixed to the inner door panel. The interference member is fixed to the panel and extends toward the release lever. With the door structure in a non-deformed state the interference member is spaced apart from the release lever. With the door structure in a deformed state in response to an impact event proximate a central area of the door structure, the panel can deformed and moves the interference member toward one end of the release lever preventing movement of the release lever to an door opening orientation.

An outer door panel and an inner door panel are fixed to one another defining a cavity therebetween. A door handle assembly is fixedly attached to the outer door panel, with at least a portion of the door handle assembly overlaying an inboard surface of the outer door panel within the cavity. An inboard portion of the door handle assembly has a connection structure. An upwardly extending bracket within the cavity is fixed to an upper end and a lower end of at least one of the inner door panel or the outer door panel. The upwardly extending bracket is spaced apart from the door handle assembly. A vibration absorbing member has a first end fixed to the connection structure of the door handle assembly and a second end attached to the upwardly extending bracket at a location spaced apart from upper and lower ends of the upwardly extending bracket.

A vehicle door structure includes inner and outer door panels, a door handle assembly and an impact pad. The inner door panel has an access opening that extends from an inboard surface to an outboard surface. The door handle assembly has a base portion overlaying an inboard surface of the outer door panel within a door cavity and a lever portion extending along an outboard surface of the outer door panel. The impact pad has a block portion and a projecting portion that extends from the block portion. The block portion overlays and contacts a portion of the outboard surface of the inner door panel adjacent to the access opening. The block portion is in vertical alignment with a portion of the base portion of the door handle. The projecting portion spans a horizontally measured width of the access opening.

Vehicle door assembly

A vehicle door assembly includes an inner door panel that partially defines a cavity therein, a door handle assembly, a main reinforcing bracket, a first reinforcing bracket and a vibration absorbing member. The first reinforcing bracket has an upper end fixedly attached to the main reinforcing bracket and to a rearward area of the inner door panel within the cavity below the door handle assembly. The vibration absorbing member has an outboard surface, an inboard surface and a main projection that extends forward from the main body. The main projection is fixed to the first reinforcing bracket such that the main body is rearward of the first reinforcing bracket. The outboard surface is shaped and dimensioned to correspond to the overall shape of the inboard portion of the door handle assembly.

Guide rails with which a window regulator is provided are respectively fixed to a module plate. The guide rails are fixed, together with the module plate, to an edge of an opening portion provided at inward frames from an outward side in a vehicle width direction. Attachment portions which are capable of afterward attaching outward frames to the inward frames are provided, and attachment portions which are capable of afterward attaching a door outer panel to a door frame comprising the inward frames and the outward frames are provided.

AUTOMOTIVE SIDE DOOR STRUCTURE

A door structure system for a vehicle includes an inner panel, an outer panel, and an outer belt reinforcement member. The outer belt reinforcement member extends in a fore-and-aft direction of the door structure. The outer belt reinforcement member creates an overlap joint with a hem flange portion of the inner panel. The outer belt reinforcement member includes touch-down feature that extends toward the inner panel and into contact with a bearing surface of the inner panel that is stepped down relative to the hem flange portion. The overlap joint and the touch-down feature both contribute to an increased upper frame stiffness of the door structure and improve sealing performance between the door structure and the vehicle body structure.
