Bars movable across vehicle door opening
An assembly for a vehicle includes a front pillar and a rear pillar spaced along a vehicle-longitudinal axis. The pillars define a door opening. The assembly includes a first track supported by the front pillar and a second track supported by the rear pillar. The assembly includes a bar movably engaged with the first track and the second track. The bar is movable between a lowered position and a raised position. The bar is elongated completely across the door opening in the raised position.
High strength aluminum alloy door beam
A vehicle door beam and related methods of making door beams include a flat-rolled aluminum alloy sheet, where two edges of the sheet that are transverse to the roll direction of the sheet are brought together to form a tube. The two edges are friction stir welded together to form a butt joint along a length of the tube. The tube is arranged, along with other optional components, as a side-impact door beam in a vehicle door, such that the butt joint is facing away from an expected impact direction of the vehicle door.
Lightweight door beam, composition thereof and method of manufacturing the same
A steel composition, a reinforcement part of a vehicle using the steel composition and a method of manufacturing the reinforcement part using the steel composition are provided. In particular, the steel composition includes increased content of carbon components and the steel composition is processed by rapid heating and immediate quenching.
Vehicle door assembly
A vehicle door assembly includes a door structure, an interior latch handle a panel and an interference member. The interior latch handle is installed to an inboard area of an inner door panel of the door structure. The interior latch handle has a housing and a release lever supported to the housing for pivotal movement. The panel is fixed to the inner door panel. The interference member is fixed to the panel and extends toward the release lever. With the door structure in a non-deformed state the interference member is spaced apart from the release lever. With the door structure in a deformed state in response to an impact event proximate a central area of the door structure, the panel can deformed and moves the interference member toward one end of the release lever preventing movement of the release lever to an door opening orientation.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure, comprising: a door structure having an inner door panel and a reinforcement member installed to the inner door panel, the reinforcement member extending from a forward area of the door structure to a rearward area of the door structure, the door structure being movable to and from each of a closed orientation and an open orientation when installed to a vehicle; a latch mechanism installed to the rearward area of the inner door panel, the latch mechanism being configured such that in a latching orientation the latch mechanism retains the door structure in the closed orientation and in a release orientation the door structure can move to the open orientation, the latch mechanism being positioned such that at least a section of a rearward portion of the reinforcement member is outboard and level with a portion of the latch mechanism; and a secondary reinforcement portion fixedly attached to a central area of the reinforcement member spaced apart from a forward area of the inner door panel such that in response to an impact event where force is directed to a central area of the door structure, the reinforcement member deforms and contacts the latch mechanism retaining the latch mechanism in the latching orientation.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure includes a door, a latch mechanism and a secondary reinforcement member (an attenuation member). The door has an inner door panel and a reinforcement member installed thereto the inner door panel. The latch mechanism is installed the inner door panel such that in a latching orientation the latch mechanism retains the door in the closed orientation and in a release orientation the door can move to the open orientation. A rearward portion of the reinforcement member is outboard and level with a portion of the latch mechanism. The secondary reinforcement member is fixedly attached to a central area of the reinforcement member spaced apart from the rearward area of the inner door panel and spaced apart from a forward area of the inner door panel. In response to an impact event, the reinforcement member deforms and contacts the latch mechanism preventing movement of the latch mechanism.
Side door structure for vehicle
Aside door structure for a vehicle includes a door beam that has hollow sections which are open at two ends in a longitudinal direction, and a hinge reinforcement member including a bent plate body in a crank shape that is joined to one of a front end and a rear end of the door beam. The hinge reinforcement member forms the crank shape by integrally forming a middle portion that closes an opening in the one of the front end and the rear end of the door beam and is joined to a stepped vertical wall of an inner panel of a side door, an outer end portion that is joined to a stepped outer side wall of the inner panel and an outer wall of the door beam, and an inner end portion that is joined to an inner wall of the door beam.
MODULAR HALF DOOR
A side door assembly is provided for an automotive vehicle body having a side opening. The side door assembly includes a lower body front casting for hinged connection to the vehicle body. A lower body rear casting is also provided for latch connection of the vehicle door assembly to the vehicle. An extrusion and/or extrusions connect the front and rear castings providing a side door assembly that is extremely light, enhancing the ability of the driver to enjoy the vehicle.
Door for vehicle
A vehicle door according to an exemplary embodiment enhances coupling strength through structural coupling by molding a window frame of a door module assembled between a door trim and the door panel with a separate aluminum injection product, and insert-injection molding a coupling portion of the window frame to a module body, and a groove is formed along the coupling portion of the window frame coupled to the module body to easily distinguish respective parts and serve to carry out sealing in injection molding.
