The control unit carries out a feedback control to control driving of the opening and closing body such that the movement of the opening and closing body, detected with the detecting unit, matches a predetermined target value when no abnormality occurs in the detecting unit or in wiring connecting the detecting unit and the control unit.

The disclosure relates to a drive arrangement for a flap of a motor vehicle, comprising a linear drive for producing drive movements and comprising a transmission arrangement, which is coupled to said linear drive, for transmitting the drive movements, a compensating arrangement being provided which couples two drive elements of the drive arrangement to each other in terms of drive, and, when a limit load between the two drive elements is exceeded, the compensating arrangement permitting a guided compensating movement between the two drive elements. It is proposed that the transmission arrangement provides the compensating arrangement.

A vehicle may include: a vehicle body including an opening in a rear portion thereof; a door configured to close the opening; and a hinge swingably connecting the door to the vehicle body. The vehicle body may further include: a frame extending along an upper edge of the opening in a left-right direction of the vehicle; and a rear header located between the frame and the upper edge of the opening. The rear header may include: a hinge mounting portion to which the hinge is attached; and an intermediate portion located between the hinge mounting portion and the frame. The intermediate portion may be located below the hinge mounting portion in an up-down direction of the vehicle. The intermediate portion of the rear header may have a lower flexural strength than the frame against a collision load that acts in a front-rear direction of the vehicle.

This disclosure relates to a vehicle including a rear closure assembly having a liftgate and a tailgate. The liftgate and the tailgate are moveable by a common actuator. In one embodiment of this disclosure, a vehicle includes a liftgate moveable between a liftgate closed position and a liftgate open position to selectively cover and uncover a first portion of a rear opening in a body of the vehicle, a tailgate moveable between a tailgate closed position and a tailgate open position to selectively cover and uncover a second portion of the rear opening, and an actuator mechanically coupled to both the liftgate and the tailgate. The actuator is configured to move the liftgate between the liftgate closed position and the liftgate open position, and the actuator is configured to move the tailgate between the tailgate closed position and the tailgate open position.

Hinge device

A hinge device for a vehicle, wherein the hinge device includes a first member, which has two spaced brackets, a second member, which is arranged between the brackets. The hinge device further includes a hinge arrangement defining a hinge axis and adapted to connect the second member to the brackets so that the members may turn in relation to each other about the hinge axis. The controller prepares for the opening/closing of the door by the drive mechanism, by having the first and second detectors detect that an item to be detected has moved from the start area which is an area that overlaps the first detection range, to a trigger area which is an area that overlaps the second detection range, in the range of operation at a predetermined interval in the width direction of the vehicle.

SYSTEM FOR SENSING A LIVING BEING PROXIMATE TO A VEHICLE

A system for a vehicle includes a rear gate assembly of the vehicle that includes a closure panel operable to pivot vehicle-downward from a closed position to an open position. The system also includes a support feature coupled to the closure panel and operable to move relative to the closure panel between a retracted position and a deployed position. In the open position of the closure panel, the position of the support feature in the deployed position is further vehicle-downward than the position of the support feature in the retracted position. The system also includes a sensing system of the vehicle that detects a living being proximate to the rear gate assembly. The system further includes a controller that authenticates an identity and determines a position of the living being based on data received from the sensing system and prompts movement of the support feature from the retracted position to the deployed position based on the authenticated identity and determined position of the living being.
